Two male juveniles arrested.

Two male students at a Fairfax County middle school have been charged with sexually battery on a female student on a school bus that was parked at their school, Fairfax County police said.

The 11- and 12-year-old students at Glasgow Middle School in Lincolnia, Va. are facing misdemeanor sexual battery charges for the Nov. 16 incident, which took place on a late bus after school, police said.

The victim told investigators she boarded the bus on the GMLR10 route on Nov. 16 and walked to the back, according to a search warrant filed in Fairfax County Circuit Court.

A short time later, she told investigators, another student slapped her on the buttocks. After asking the student what he did, the girl told investigators the student replied, “I touched your butt.”

The girl said the student grabbed her buttocks and breasts over a period of 10 to 12 minutes, according to the search warrant. The girl told investigators the student also held her down and straddled her, as a second student held her feet down. The girl yelled at them to stop.

At some point, the second student tried to force the girl’s face into the first student’s crotch. Police said it did not appear a bus driver was on the bus at the time of the incident, although they could not say for sure.

Investigators wrote the alleged sexual assault was reported to authorities by Glasgow’s assistant principal, Stefan Mascoll, after he was alerted to it by a parent of a student.

A Fairfax County police officer who reviewed video from the bus wrote in the search warrant that it showed the two students grabbing the girl several times.

The Washington Post does not generally name the victims of sexual assault or juveniles accused of crimes. Officials with the Fairfax County School District have not responded to a request for comment about the case.

A highly inappropriate statement, thanks to the lawyers and the pansies who don’t do anything without their approval! They make it sound as if the students skipped school and spray-painted graffiti on the wall.

An appropriate “statement” would have stated how utterly deplorable such an offense is and how contemptible anyone is who does such a thing. An inexcusable act which amounts to nothing more than cowardice bullying but in a most vile manner. To say anything less, is to make little of what happened.

Shame on the Fairfax County schools. Their “statement” is equally offensive as the crimes these children committed against a fellow student. A disgusting statement of who we have become.

As opposed to how much trouble the driver would be in if (s)he *was* on board at the time? Seems like big trouble either way. Only thing that works is "I was stuck in the door, so I was there but couldn't see or hear what was going on"...

There's a lot the driver can't see on the bus. The seat backs are high and the rear seats are almost 40 feet from the drivers' seat. It's hard to prove what somebody saw or didn't see.
