All time peaks? Really? Bush sucked, no question about that but the country was shit when he started.
The Clinton economic legacy was a farce. He took over after the Bush I banking crisis that forced a bail out of $billions by the tax payers.
When Clinton was elected the Resolution Trust Corporation had been formed to liquidate acquired assets during the crisis to get money back into the treasury. The liquidation of these assets were one of the elements that contributed to the so called Clinton economy....skewing the US balance sheet and income statement as they spun this to make him look like some sort of hero...smoke and mirrors.
Also during the Clinton years was the dot bomb era where the investment banks once again took advantage of the the public to push huge transfers of wealth. During this time and the IPO boom, where $$billions if not $$trillions were invested in what would be failed companies...failures that the banks who underwrote these IPO's were well aware that they would happen...$$$billions flowed form the savings and retirement accounts of the people into these companies with the banks taking huge fees....Clinton and his administration were party to the largest banking fraud in history...much bigger than even the Bush banking fraud of the 2000's.
It was during this time that these phony companies spent the $$$billions given to them buying technology, internet infrastructure, hiring 100's of thousands of over paid dot bomb employees who paid taxes during these times...this money flowed from the investment accounts of millions of people into the economy artificially pumping it up until the ultimate collapse around 2000....of which Bush had to inherit.
The Clinton economy was a sham.
