Flu hits you hard, you get the chills, maybe the shits too. You feel lousy, You probably will have a fever over 100F You may hack and gag. Your bones hurt. See a doctor.
Colds are lousy your nose runs, you cough , you may have a headache, you may have a slight fever 100 and less and some chills, but not as bad as the flu, You feel better in a couple days with a cold, the flu you may still be sick a week later. Both are from a Virus. Bed rest asprin in moderate doses, it can give you a ulcer, or worse, lots of liquids, stay warm , don't worry, take a couple days off, The flu at least 3 go to bed early. All the usual things. Drink alcohol in moderation.
All that said if your really lousy feeling , have a fever see a Doctor.
Really See a Doctor is the best advice..If your feeling lousy

Colds can last a couple weeks Flu several weeks, You will be back on your feet before that but still feeling it. Doctors have a test to see if its cold or Flu..see one ..

And a Flu Shot is a covered expense under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and thus free as part of preventive maintenance. So is a check=up --- Some of the posters should go get their checkup to make sure they are still sane.
