When I saw the film Bonnie & Clyde as a lad of 15 in 1967 and heard Earl Scuggs play "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" on the soundtrack...I was HOOKED! My mom bought me a 5-string banjo (at the National Pawnbrokers on Lee Hwy in Arlington) that Christmas and I've been fuckin' with it ever since. I eventually got good enough to play for MONEY...LOL
Like tonight...played a hillbilly wedding reception in Fredericksburg ....
So...any musicians here?
Me: 5-string banjo, guitar (Excellent), dobro (Good), fiddle (Half-assed).

Our resident musician is a gentleman named Meade Skelton.
He lives in Richmond. Keyboards and vocals, songwriter.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch has described Skelton as having "a strong expressive singing voice combined with a heartache meets humor style, and he puts pop, country, jazz, Americana and gospel music into a blender and calls it his own.
You should get together with him - I am sure he would love to collaborate.
You could do some songs on his Youtube channel to get things rolling.
It would be fun to have a guest on his show!
If you want to play professionally, you could both get more gigs
as a duo than by yourselves, probably. "Banjoman and Meade"!

I bought a S&W 44 magnum 8 3/8 " at that pawnshop way back for 375.00
It was a nice piece but would get hung up in my "Magic Pizza" box coming into the seedy apt on Rt 1 , don't rob DIRTY DAJAX LOL !
