Removal Of Christmas/Holiday Decorations by 12:00am December 29,2015
Posted by: Centreville HOA President ()
Date: December 27, 2015 01:51PM

All Christmas/Holiday decorations must be removed from display of any kind 72 hours after the passing of the holiday. This means in short that everything must be removed by December 29, 2015 at 12:00am.

I will begin a sweep of the areas that my HOA covers at that time, and violations will be noted, and the violators will be issued fines.

$150.00 per violation plus $75.00 process fee.

Violations past 12:00am January 1, 2016 will be assessed another fine plus fee as listed above.

All violators will be notified via Registered Certified Mail.

It's New Year's Day. That's the cutoff. And for your information, Christmas lights DON'T go up until anytime after Thanksgiving. Thanks for asking.

Christmas is 12 days, hence Jan 5 is the last day of the holiday. My decorations stay up through Epiphany.

I hope this is a damned joke. My own decorations are staying up until New Years Day - at least.

I did not know parent's basements had their own HOAs. Fairfax truly has become overregulated.

This HOA person will probably keep the fine money for herself. This is the appearance of a "legal" way to make some quick cash off the local Christians. Make sure you read your Bylaws to see if this is really necessary or if it is just more graft and corruption.

I have toured the neighborhood that my HOA oversees, and I have found 41 violators that STILL HAVE NOT removed their holiday decorations from being displayed as to be visible from the street.

All violators have been sent notification via US Registered Certified Mail as to the need to remove the holiday decorations, and pay the fines and process fee by 12:00am January 1, 2016

Failure to comply with the HOA order to remove Holiday decoration by 12:00am January 1, 2016 will result in another fine of $150.00 plus $75.00 process fee.

Failure to pay initial fine by 12:00am January 5, 2016 will result in a fine of $150.00 plus $75.00 process fee.

All unpaid fines and fees will have 10% interest per month added until the balance is paid in full.

No worries here in the Peoples Republic of Montgomery County. The Menorah's have been put away for weeks.

Only 72 hours after? Where were you at Thanksgiving when it started going up?

I toured the neighborhood that my HOA governs, and I have found 26 more violations.

Letters of violations were sent today, and the payment of all fines are due by January 7, 2016

I toured my neighborhood and sent out pictures of LAST year's violations along with pics of the current violations and made fines retroactive to Dec 29 2014!

I am currently looking at glossy vacation brochures and planning our annual HOA committee getaway. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
