9/16 7:15 PM - Jet formation over the Potomac?

There was a tight formation of 5 or 6 fighters flying low over Old Town at sundown today. Very pretty site, but I'm not sure what it was for.

They appeared to have single vertical stabilizers and looked white or light grey. Really not sure what they were. Didn't quite look like the Thunderbirds, but I Wasn't close enough to make out details.

Anybody know?

Yep, this is part of an Air Force birthday celebration being held on Bolling. They were doing a practice run today.

Joint Airforce Show Saturday at Andrews Air Force Base. 11:30-4pm. Free admission. Get shuttle buses from FED Ex. This is the BIG DC air show. It only happens every two years now.

Thunderbirds are performing this year.
