Hoodbridge is even more of a shit hole than I remembered

Had to go down to Woodbridge to pick up a part today.
It's like going to fucking a 3rd-world country. Businesses boarded up. Broken windows. Gang graffiti all over. Clotheslines hanging out of apartment windows. About every third car on the road was a dropped 94 Corolla with gold rims. Illegals running up to my truck looking for work every time I pulled into a parking lot.
Should just rename it North San Salvador at this point.

I lived there from September of 2011 to July of 2014. The sphincter of Hoodbridge dilated considerably in that short time. It will be the PWC equivalent of Bailey's Crossroads within a few years if it is not already.

Prince William County is better than Alexandria/Eastern Fairfax county. Evdn though your saying shit about route 1 on woodbridge but its normal across the real south... Woodbridge Itself is set up as if it was a town in Georgia or North Carolina..And a bunch of Hispanics and Blacks is normal.... I think your just a piece of shit from Colorado..

the southern most end of Woodbridge is still decent to nice and has some hope still going for it I used to own a sweet little townhouse there. Crossing the bridge from Ffx Co into Woodbrige then(200-2002)there were still business open along the stretch of Rt1 through northen Woodbridge.
Now? Half of Woodbridge as viewed driving southward on Rt1 looks like f*cking Tijuana. Been to Tijuana twice its no bullsh*t. Boarded up and out of business everything both sides of the highway. Overgrowth consuming abandoned commercial buildings. Title loan after title loan. The pavement of the highway goes from fine on the Ffx side of the bridge to near war torn once across into PW.
Where the F did all the seedy Mexican looking dive bars come from? Driving through another time I realized these sleazy dive bars were once something completely different. At some point these abandoned businesses were so desperate for cash the owners sold their lots for next to nothing then were converted into the sh*t stain filth ridden dive bars I had seen all over Tijuana. No BS most look exactly like the whore ridden tequila dives in Tijuana.
WTF happened? I remember when all Woodbridge seemed on the up and up from what back in 2001 were actually kept up and succesfull at least marginally along the northern stretch of Rt1 Woodbridge and especially along the southern end of the Woodbridge stretch of the Hwy where I used to live.
It only took a single drive through in the morning and back through later at night to reveal why everything went to sh*t so fast. Stumbling drunk illegals staggereing up and down the sides of the Hwy esp around the dive bars at night. Stumbling drunk illegals gathered in groups up to a couple of dozen all over the parking lots of 7-11's in the morning.
I believe most of the Woodbridge illegals are actually Mexicans. Most of the illegals in Ffx are from El Salvador. The Salvadorian illegals despite having their obvious share of drunks and drug addicts have many more actually sober and trying to actually work and get paid hopefully doing well enough a job to get picked up again members among them. Ive only seen one blacked out drunk here in Fairfax with liquor poured all over his shirt Salvadorian in front of my local 7-11 in the morning ONCE over the past several months!
Maybe he was a Mexican that got so drunk he staggered there all the way up the Hwy from PW. FCPD saw to him pretty quickly it was sad to watch.

Western PWC is one of the most conservative counties in the metro area. Eastern PWC, where Woodbridge is located, tends to be more liberal. That's Gerry Connolly's area and he gets their vote every time.
A few years back, PWC had allocated $9+ million dollars to bury some of the power lines along Rt. 1 in Woodbridge. I believe they found a way to kill that project because another budget deficit crept up.
Imagine spending $9 million to bury power lines and it would have meant zero improvement for the Rt. 1 area of Woodbridge. Major failure.
