Fairfax Police and Traffic Safety

I was almost run down by a Fairfax County police car a few days ago. I was crossing Richmond Highway, in a crosswalk, with the pedestrian crossing light indicating I still had 30 seconds to cross. I am in my 70's and have disabilities, although I can get around. I know my limitations and am very safe, which is why I was able to save myself by jumping out of the way.

The cop wasn't even in the picture when I entered the crosswalk, displayed no flashing lights and no siren. He then turned into Starbucks.

So shouldn't Fairfax County Police vehicles be the poster children for safedriving in the county?? They are not.

Please share your stories about police unsafe driving in Fairfax County. Maybe they need stand down for a few days of motor vehicle safety training.

Do not criticize the Fairfax Police officers, Citizen. They are heroes.

I guess I should have known that I could be charged with "Crossing Street in Crosswalk While Black and Poor" in Virginia. It's probably a felony. Black being an aggravating condition. Complaining probably elevates to level where a lynching is justified.

your definition of heros is grossly misplaced

hero: a person or character who, in the face of danger and adversity or from a position of weakness, displays courage, bravery or self-sacrifice.

handing out failure to signal lane change violations?

ticket for expired inspection sticker?

traveling in hov lane during rush hour on the toll road?

come on man get a grip.

If this post was a fake they'd have claimed the police car turned into Dunkin Donuts.

Jumping according to a 70 year old might look more like walking briskly to us.

They could at least make themselves useful by rounding up all the itinerant firefighters who have taken to panhandling and shaming motorists who don't fall for their extortion scam.
