The annual "Springfield Country Club Fireworks" thread:
Posted by: Lacy Underall ()
Date: June 29, 2015 05:43PM

Every year we have this, so here goes:

When will the fireworks be set off at the Springfield Country Club this year?

I don't care what Judge Smails has to say, I am going, even if I have to sneak over the fence.

Watched it from my tailgate in Giant's parking lot a couple of years back.
Not a bad show.

There's a nice pond there to watch it from. There's a pool and a pond. The pond will be good for you...

Greetings all, Emily Kaufman membership director here from Springfield Country Club. Just a few things regarding the annual fireworks display at the club...

1) Due to the forecast, we will be holding the fireworks at the club on Sunday, July 5th this year.

2) As we have done for several decades now, the club has made a generous donation to the Citizens of Police Survivors charity to help those whose family members died in the line of duty as police officers. Any cars parked in the Cardinal Forest Shopping Center, Rolling Road or any of the side streets around the club will be towed. Any citizens who are not members of the club will be given trespassing citations if they are in view of the fireworks. Failure to depart the area will result in your arrest.

Nobody loves Springfield more than the club. But, please bear in mind...if you didn't pay for these fireworks, then these fireworks are not for you.

Emily has it all wrong. Just as last year, in order to save money the fireworks will be on July 2 at 2:30 in the afternoon. Wear your darkest sunglasses for the greatest effect. Enjoy, courtesy of Springfield Golf Club

Bring it on... Empty threats, still.

Oh, and the Springfield Country Club invitation card I received in the mail, I think I'll pass. Sure, I am sure to fit your demographics, but would not surround myself, otherwise.

I there are a lot of group of illegals planning to sneak into the these fireworks this. Also a couple of groups of high school kids. Should be a funny Caddyshack night at the country club grounds.

Also they didn't tow anybody last year from the nearby parking lots.

I'm I reading the above statement "We have made generous donations" as an indication that they paid "bribe type" money and expect the police to give them special treatment for their money? Is that what is implied by the above statement?

I guess I can get arrested at my house since I can see the fireworks from there. This is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard.

Why would they tow cars from the Cardinal Forest shopping center? Are people not allowed to shop? And if they are shopping, they would not be watching the fireworks anyway. This makes no sense.

Heard today that they decided to open the club to the public for the fireworks show as a gesture of goodwill to all Americans who wish to celebrate the birth of our country. Free hot dogs, beer and wine for everyone!

The parking lot in front of Giant is now part of the TD Bank, any vehicles parked there that are not doing business with the bank will be towed! This is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have contracted with two towing companies who monitor our parking lot and will tow immediately upon noting the vehicle driver not entering the bank. You have been warned! Do not park in our lot on Friday July 3rd to watch the fireworks at SCC! YOU WILL BE TOWED!

Blocking the community at-large from viewing air space by restricting them from parking in their shopping center parking lot on the 4th of July, of all days?! This has to be a joke.

Bring it on. Now YOU have been challenged.

I'll be there, drink in-hand, sitting on the tailgate of my truck. Better bring a large tow truck, as a little wheel-lift or sneaker won't cut it.

Maybe you would if you were a member instead of a mamber.

LMAO, Please don't look in the sky during the Springfield Country Club fireworks show. That sky is reserved for SSC members only. Or as FFXU likes to call the SSC members... "mambers."

It's funny because I used to work at the country club and I've never heard your name before. The people responsible for this event are Danielle Mikrut and Bassam Medawar.

Emily Kaufman is the name of the actual membership director at SGCC however the above post in her name is bogus, it's not from her. Fireworks are July 3rd (weather permitting)

Bassam? Mikrut? Sounds like they'll let anyone in. Definitely not a country club I'd want to join. I bet they are having a Ramadan celebration tonight.

Just got back, good show overall. One firework was set off, then about a 3 minute pause. Then came the show... It was decent.

Best part though was the parking lot party. It was great to see some of Springfield's old school rednecks in full force. Loved the big hair from 1988 and the torn shirts. It was good to party with y'all after all these years.

No tow trucks, no management kicking anyone out. In fact, some black Ford Expedition parked right in the bank lanes. She owned that lot!

See you next year!

Ya, I'm alright and nobody worry 'bout me
Why you got to gimme a fight, can't you just let it be?
I'm alright don't nobody worry 'bout me
You got to gimme a fight, why don't you just let me be?

Do what you like doing it naturally
But if it's too easy, they're gonna disagree
It's your life and isn't it a mystery
If it's nobody's business it's everybody's game
