American National Catholic Church in Fairfax – a non-Roman Catholic Catholic Church
From the website
http://www.mysaintanthonys.org :
“St. Anthony of Padua American National Catholic Church is a dynamic faith community that seeks to be a beacon of hope and source of strength for those who don’t feel connected to or welcomed by the institution of the Roman Catholic Church.”
and
“The parish of Saint Anthony of Padua is an all-embracing church community of the American National Catholic Church
http://americannationalcatholicchurch.org ). The parish of St. Anthony of Padua is a faith community in the Catholic tradition which embraces all into full participation in the sacramental life of the church.”
I’m not trying to start a religious debate. If you are Roman Catholic and happy with your church, great. But I’ve run into a lot of people over the years who were raised Catholic and no longer feel welcome in the church due to divorce, sexual orientation, etc., and might be interested to know a place like this exists.
I’m an agnostic who attended with a friend, and even I couldn’t find anything in the message to complain about – love and peace and hope, and everyone is included.
They also live-stream the mass.
