Where to get rid of canned food?
Posted by: myPnL ()

I have about 150 cans of blacks beans that I want to give away. They're Goya brand and good until 2017. Is there a shelter or something I can drop them off at?

I was trying to build up some emergency food stores but I don't think I'm ever going to eat these and I should of bought bagged beans that will last longer.

I would imagine that canned food will last much much longer than any bagged product.

but just take them downto the 7-11 on elden street in herndon... it won't last long...

How in the fuck can the DMV allow stupid people like the OP to drive a car?

Why would anyone buy 10+ cases of the same thing?

Please don't prep - You don't deserve to survive.

Canned beans do store better and longer than dried beans. Dried ones get impossible to cook after a year or two. They also require more effort & energy to prepare, something to keep in mind if you're using them as emergency food stores. You can pop a can open anywhere and start eating. Dried ones will require more resources like water and heat and take a few hours to cook.

That's a great thing to have for a practical joke. Like fill someone's car with beans, or dump all 150 cans into someone's swimming pool. Or just mail them to people at random.

^^^ I like the way you are thinking^^^^^^

You could poke some holes in the cans the lift up the floor register in someones hose and let the can roll into the duct. That trick works better with cat food though.

Anyone stupid enough to own 150 cans of black beans should simply shove them up their ass. In 150 days, problem solved.

Just throw them away. No need to feed those who will only produce more hungry mouths. You feed....they breed.

Take them bit by bit to grocery store customer service counters. If they scan as an active item, you get cash or store credit. They might not accept the whole 150 at the same time, but a few at a time should not be a problem. Rotate stores. Giant, Teeter, Safeway, etc.

There's money in them beans. I wouldn't walk away from it.
