Springfield Town Center Dinning Options
Posted by: STC Chic ()

Finally, some decent dinning options in Springfield, courtesy of the new Springfield Town Center. I think we have eaten at all the major restaurants currently open at Springfield Town Center. Below are my reviews. Most visits have been with family of three, but sometimes it is just 2 of us.

Chuy's - Great service. Fun atmosphere. Good margarita's. Chips and salsa are served promptly upon being sat. Decent Tex-Mex. Fajitas are good, but on last visit they must have sat under the lights too long as there was not any sizzle left on the pan they were served on. Decent happy hour $3 beers and $5 margaritas along with a chips, salsa, and queso bar. Longest wait over 1 hour on a Saturday Night.

Maggiano's - upscale italian chain restaurant. Service okay. Depending on what your order food mediorce to good. I believe they use microwaves, because on one visit, my entree was ice cold in the center. Service inconsistent. Longest wait 45 minutes on a Sunday!

YardHouse - great beer selection. Good happy hour! Very noisy and very crowded! Lonnngggg waits, 1 hour + on weeknights, 1.5 - 2 hours on Friday and Saturday nights! Food hit or miss and expensive for what you get. Average Service. Will be nice with patio open as weather warms up.

Nando's Peri - Peri - fast service (order and sit at table, runners bring food to you). Look out for first time guests who hold up the line. Chicken has a great flavor, but don't order hot if you don't want it spicy! Chicken portions seemed a little small on our visit, sides were good, but a little under whelming. Excellent selection of sauces for dipping or covering your chicken if you like.

&Pizza - very good made to order individual size pizzas. House made mozzarella. 8 signature pizzas or 35 different toppings to allow you to customize your pizza any way you like. You can add as many toppings as you like to your pizza for $8.95! Pizza cooks very fast < 5 minutes. We had three pizzas and 3 of their signature soft drinks (which were excellent) for around $35.

Looking forward to what others have to add.

I found the three I've eaten at, Chuy's, Yard House and Maggiano's, to range from meh to mediocre. But then that's par for the course for chains. I was most disappointed with Maggiano's, as the food was barely warmed over before they nuked it.

While I cannot speak for the Springfield Town Center location, the Chuy's in Fairfax is a step above most Tex-Mex and is a great addition to the fast casual dining options in FXCO.

&pizza is great! Unique style, so don't look for authentic "NY" pizza, but still worth trying.

It's actually a pretty decent chain that's been around in west cost cities for a decade or so, I've eaten there many times in other cities and always thought it was pretty good. Happy to see they're expanding to the east coast.

Yes, Eleni's is very good as well, they're consistently busy. There's also El Paso Mexican over there as well. Chuy's is great Tex-Mex, but El Paso is very solid Mexican, also always busy. Both of these places are reasonably priced as well. The area is really starting to get some good restaurants and bars, it's very nice to see.

You're joking, right? MS-13 rules all of Springfield now and they have for many years. Fuck those brown, savage, mud-people and fuck you and your defense of them.

No they have not. I live minutes from the town center and haven't seen the gang that scares you shitless. I have seen them in falls church, arlington, lorton, and manassas.

I live steps from STC. There is a gang problem in this area of Springfield. There are serious problems with human trafficking, particularly of underage girls and gangs are implicated in this.

Not in Springfield though. You talking about these gang members from RESTON?

Three individuals from Reston and a fourth man with no fixed address, all of whom police say are either members or associates of the MS-13 street gang, have been arrested under various charges including gang recruitment and human trafficking.

Maggiano's in Tyson's is way better than what you're describing. One of the best restaurants(In the galleria for a reason) I've ever been to and same probably goes for other locations. I just think Springfield has terrible management.

Oh, things are somewhat better now that Springfield Mall is STC (and that's temporary) but within the last 10 years we've had a woman abducted and murdered there in the parking lot. Numerous teenaged girls getting raped in the bathrooms. Various and sundry muggings and cars being vandalized.

I've lived in Springfield for 40 years. I've seen it go from an idyllic, thriving suburb and then in the early 90's with the influx of the Salvadorans, it's become a third world shit hole now.

I did my share of whitebread hell raising in the 80's. And we were telling 5-Oh back then that they'd better prepare themselves for the Salvadoran crime wave and...they didn't. MS-13 owns all of us now. Even those who refuse to see what is right there in front of their eyes.

There is nothing racist about saying gangs are trafficking underage girls.

There is however something deeply repellant about ignoring human suffering in a misguided attempt at retail boosterism.

No you are incorrect. The older woman was abducted by 2 black guys from Hoodbridge who visited the mall then driven to a convenience store in WOODBRIDGE where the dumb guys crashed their car. They survived she passed away. Guess what? there was also a rape in Ballston Mall in Arlington and a shoot out. I know because I lived in that area at the time. Only people who are ENVIOUS don't like to see prosperity. NEVER heard of any rape at the springfield mall and I just looked it up and there is nothing on that LIAR. I actually worked there when I was in college til 11pm! And I am a short cutie who did not display the fear of the biggest pussies on this forum. STOP MAKING SHIT UP JEALOUS FUCK.

They're just jealous because Springfield along with Falls Church crushed the rest of Fairfax in appreciation last year.

Springfield had over 10 times better appreciation than McLean and left Tysons in its dust.

Thai Cafe in the detached part (near corner of Loisdale Rd and Spring Mall Drive) is pretty good and not a chain.

Chuy's is excellent. I recommend you check it out as a regular at the Town Centre if you are looking to change up your regular choice to dine at. I had the Pulled chicken dish and the steak (very tender and flavorful). I also had the dessert, it was a pound cake like cake sitting in vanilla ice cream slightly melted with cherries on top. A++ service too. I left a 20 dollars tip.

I won't contest that illegal savage gangs/traficking are a problem are a problem in *central* Springfield. They are. Think about it, with all the highways converging here, it's prime real estate for pimps/hookers (knew girls I went to HS with that went on that path). But that culture is generally more concealed and only affects the parties involved, majority of the time.

But if STC (it'll always be "mall" to me) plays their cards right, there could be a massive gentrification of the area. It's just math, looking at every metric the property values will rise and drive out transients (regardless of race).

Everything in 22152 is largely peachy-keen, and that is where the real economic base will draw it's revenue from, gradually converging to Central Springfield and driving out the denizens. And the greater Springfield areas outlook only cotinues to improve, despite the complete economic collapse of the most of the nation
