Finally! Years after announcing they have 500 meg download plans available, actual availability for 150 and 300 meg download plans are now available in Fairfax. I had just got done telling a friend they will never upgrade us from BPON to GPON, did a double check on the site, and it's available!

Good luck ordering it. A friend called and the salespeople had never heard of it.
Typical big-company incompetence (not the phone people, the morons who are marketing something without telling the front-line folks).

Useless, of course, if your primary access method is WiFi. I would guess this is good thing those that are gamers...

Verizon is a joke and so are these plans. You can have 10Gbps if you want. Your internet browsing isn't going to be any faster. Youtube is almost unbearable with Verizon as it is now from a 75Mbps line. More speed isn't the answer to most problems on the Internet. At least when there's congestion, throttling, and the websites and servers you are accessing are on shared 10 and 100 Mbps lines.

Signed up on the website, we'll see if the front line is up to date when the installer gets here next week. Never have trouble with streaming from Youtube or Netflix personally. Ping has always been good, more bandwidth doesn't help that for gaming. Obviously browsing isn't going to be faster, if you have no clue where content is that you can access directly making use of that full bandwidth, obviously don't get the larger plans. 10Gbps? Fuck yea, show me where to sign up.
