When did this area become so fucking wimpy?????

The Federal Govt shuts down because we had 3-4" of snow? The roads are fine, just some slush and some packed snow. When did they decide to shut down? We are raising a generation of slackers and cry babys.

I've lived here a long time and when I was younger a snowfall like this one was nothing more than a temporary nuisance, not a natural disaster! VA Gov declares a "State of Emergency"......WTF?

It's pretty ironic people cant got to work or school, but they manage to get downtown for a snowball fight.

OPM bought into the hype. They called it early last night like around 9:30 because they didn't want to hear the bitching from employees who were already drunk and stoned and not planning to go to work today.

Really? I left Centreville at 6:30 and was in Arlington at 7:45

It took you an hour and 15 minutes to go 20 miles? Did you walk? LOL! I could almost be in West VA from Arlington in that time! The roads must not have been fine if it took you that long! I was doing 60mph when everyone was going 30.

Reston to Alexandria, was great today. Less cars on the road, and it was all dry asphalt except a few patches in my neighborhood.

Id like to see other parts of the country go without power and ac in 100 degree heat/ 85% humidity like we have to during the summer. We are just in between places where it snows and where it snows enough for people to function. Its only a few days a year for god's sake - its not the end of the world.
