I think a better contest would be to guess when they will reopen.
The combination of this snow and the frigid temps the rest of the week AND their track record leads me to believe this entire week will be punted.

You're probably correct.
Snow on Tues and Wed. Teachers will demand the days off.
Thursday and Friday will be "cold." And we all know that FCPS buses magically stop working when it's cold while neighboring counties and cities run their buses just fine.
I think FCPS buses are victim of some strange virus that affects humans and machines... it's oddly similar to how some FCPS elementary schools don't let the students outside for recess when the temps dip below 65.

I know people in transportation and admin - it's closed. as to when it's announced, I don't know. My guess is 7:30pm

With 13 snow days built into the school year, folks with young kids can expect to burn at least 10 days of their vacation time every year . Teachers on the other hand will help fill those empty hotel rooms.

Don't have kids if you don't want to deal with the fallout. Look at it this way - assuming they are normal and healthy? This is a short term issue. I've dealt with patients who are wheelchair bound, dying (slowly) or have so many behavior or mental issues that their parents are basically enslaved forever by their kids.
10 days of missed vacation time is nothing. Stay home, play with your kids, enjoy the fact that they are healthy and alive and normal. They don't stay young forever.
