My neighbor is a pedophile

I suspect my neighbor is a pedophile because one of my children came home one day and claimed she was inappropriately groped by my neighbor on her way home from school. My daughter is only 10 and she has an ACTIVE imagination and has said some pretty off the wall stuff.
My 15 year old usually walks home with her and couldn't verify her statement because he didn't walk home with her that day. Should I err on the side of caution and confront my neighbor or wipe it off as my daughter and her active imagination? This guy actually works in IT and his wife is a professor at GMU. They are lovely neighbors who've grown to become some of our best friends. I would hate for that to end all because the husband is a pedo.

Make sure you have your facts right before you attempt to wreck the life of an innocent person. This crap happened to a Fairfax County Teacher a couple years ago. He was innocent, but it cost him his job, hundreds of thousands in lawyer costs, and I think his wife left him as well.
Innocent man put together by a bullshit story.

You identify the couple by listing their location and occupations, but you will not call the police and have an expert interview your child? It sounds like you simply want to smear someone. That is low.

The OP claims that she suspects her child was groped "one day" (not today. not yesterday, but one day), and she is concerned that their relationshp might end because the neighbor is a pedophile. Neither of those makes any sense. A mother who suspects a neighbor of pedophilia does not wait days and then go to a forum like this for advice.

Talk to someone from cps. They might be able to give you better info, it will be on record and they can give you resources and advice on this matter. Or talk to the counselor at your Childs school.
