Police car v. motorcycle
Posted by: BitchFace ()

I saw a police chase yesterday on monument drive. About 5 police cars were chasing this motorcycle at pretty high speeds. The question came to mind on how a cop car stands a chance against a bike? Do they just run them over or what?

No, they just keep the pressure on until the asshole wipes out.

Or until Fairfax One can get airborne.

Or until they run into some innocent person who is just minding their own business.

You'd be the first cunt to bitch about it if the motorcyclist crashed into someone "just minding their own business."

Fuck you you shit head.

He may outrun the car, but not the radio. FFX-1 (Helicopter) was dispatched and Loudoun County and State Police were on standby. The motorcyclist eventually pulled over and gave up.

I always chuckle when I see a bunch of cops around here chasing somebody during rush hour. Police chases in an urban environment during the day are stupid and downright dangerous. That's why they rarely happen in big cities without the approval of a captain. Only at night will patrolmen generally be given the green light to go after somebody "with discretion". If the guy shot up a place I could understand, but if he's speeding or something, get a description and let him go, or if you absolutely must go after the guy, get a chopper on him. Having a dozen cop cars flying around trying to catch the guy isn't going to make things any safer, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I had a cop buddy tell me they're taught to basically not chase a motorcycle. They're too fast and nimble and it's risky for everyone involved.

They should jsut wait till there are no other cars around and then shoot at him. they "aim for the tires" but they accidentally kill him. problem solved.

It's a very simple problem to fix. Radio ahead and tell the cops to stop traffic and then just ahead of the stop, stretch a wire at about chest height across the road.

From that point the situation will sort itself out naturally.

I remember a bike cop lidar-ing people from our street and he would lidar people at the top of a slight hill and this one time a biker all suited up in an orange n black outfit was doin prob 65 and the cop got him then jumped in th street to tell him to stop n pull over. Well the biker tried to stop but couldnt so he just passed the cop n u could tell for a moment he thought about stopping, but then you just hear him gun the bike n he shoots off. Well this fat fuck bike cop is rushing to ut his shit in the bikes compartments n chase him but it was already too late. This idiot had no idea where the biker went and a couple minutes later, the biker comes our way n cuts into our street, goes into the end and chills. A minute later the bike cop comes gunnin by, turns onto the wrong street and we never see him again. The biker comes back after about 3 min, flips me n my bro that "shooter" thing with his fingers like in biker boys n guns off.

you suck at using pronouns. it's really hard to tell who's doing what in that mess you call a story.

Yep. You can outrun the PoPo in the cruisers, but once the Ghetto bird is tracking you, you might as well save the gas money and stop where you are.

Actually your all wrong with regards to the chopper, the Bell 407 has a top speed of 160 mph, and a range of 372 miles, so returning halfway through would give a operational range of around 160 miles for a chase.

Bikes that can beat this -

BMW K1200S 167 mph

Ducati 1098s 169 mph

Aprilia RSV 1000R Mille 175mph

Yamaha YZF R1 176mph

Honda CBR 1100XX Super Blackbird 178mph

MV Agusta F4 1000 R 185 mph

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 (ZZR1400) 186 mph

Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa 190 mph

MTT Turbine Superbike Y2K 227 mph

In the european countries bikers outrun the police helecopters / cars / bikes on a regular basis, added to this any biker who can ride this fast will be a far far far better driver than a cop.

but considering that my 2 year old son can drive better than most of you, I wouldn't risk it.

You're forgetting that the chopper can go 160 mph continuously in one direction, where the motorcycle has to navigate traffic, turns, potholes, etc.

I'd bet on the helicopter unless the motorcyclist takes to the sewers.

Yes, but for some reason you're under the impression that going faster than 160mph is possible in gridlocked NOVA.

you are wrong, wrong, wrong, the choppers vew is obscured by buildings, telephone lines, and best of all, if you are being chased by a chopper, drive through, or next to, or near a no/restricted fly zone, airport, military base, etc etc. chopper lost bike wins.

They caught the guy near Glade and Reston Pkwy just to give you and idea of how long the chase was.

there are very, very few riders who can control a bike at those speeds. 130 in a straight line is pushing it for most people in this area. someone with years of experience at high speeds could do it, but who in this area has that?
The europeans can go on the autobahn and push the envelope on a regular basis, but unless you're on an empty Nevada highway, you don't get that chance here in the states
