Can't fool you. By the way the Fairfax forum rules say "Anything that may interest Fairfax county residents." That includes nearby areas.

I blame prescription meds.. either going on or off. I see some of these kids come in to where I work and they are all over the place. It's not normal to be this depressed unless there is something chemical

I know someone who set something up similarly after losing his leg. He called it a Random Act of Violence and has been collecting donations. Little to people know he was dealing and using drugs and his attack was most likely (I believe) provoked by the guys he owed money. Blamed two white dudes. Looked him up on the court records and he has a rap sheet. He is a predator and thank god someone stopped him before he was able to really hurt someone. Look up the person you are going to donate to and see if there are links on FB before throwing money at a fake campaign. Predators love GoFundMe and likely someone wouldn't think to look on GoFundMe to see if their story was being exploited. DUMB all around when things don't add up. As if a family like this would need to collect donations or publish their story. Must be someone they know.

I live a lot closer to Ashburn than most parts of Fairfax County so of course this story is of interest.

Looking further into this it looks like some SJW set this up not even thinking of the privacy of the family. Can we go back to teaching kids manners and discretion? They jump at the opportunity to be part of some cause and don't even think about the inappropriateness of the attention it garners. They live on social media and have no concept of real lose or the integrity of his memory. Idiots.

where were these people on social media before this incident? They just want to cover their own butts and because they may have known him on the periphery they think it's appropriate to make a public post. they probably can't even articulate their own motivations for commenting on this and making it public. Arm chair psychologists & philosophers and bleeding hearts. If you care you say nothing. Survivors don't want your I'm sorries... they don't even know you.

I heard his family was having a going out of business sale with his donatable organs the other night. Did anyone happen to get the liver? I've got a killer pâté recipe.

the GoFundMe was set up by classmates--fellow freshmen.
They weren't thinking the family privacy issues or anything through, they just wanted to do something, and like all super plugged in kids (and many adults) just went through social media and started pressing buttons.
When the family became aware of it, they said any money collected would be donated to charity.
