A luxurious beacfront Hotel for a few days of sun and fun. This is waterside in Norfolk. The Naval ship yard is right across the river.

Yes, that is the resort you are seeing in the above picture and sailing boat is sailing in front of Waterside (Look for the blue roof behind the sail boat in the picture - that's Waterside)

The big blue building is the The Scope located about four away from Waterside.

Like I said, those are brochure pictures.

The big blue building is also not the The Scope located about four away from Waterside.

I lived 6 years in Norfolk. My roommate and her friend worked at the Phillips in Waterside. Trust me, all the pictures in the brochure are from the area in the above picture.

That's better than average for $119 a night, but I would hardly call that a "luxury resort." Staged pictures, most likely taken when the hotel first opened 20 years ago, can make any hotel look nice.

I use to travel all year long and I would consider that hotel modest to average accommodations.

Here is a luxury beach resort to compare it to- http://www.thebreakers.com/virtual_tours/

Geez, it's not that great a hotel. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but it's not the Ritz. It's average for conference accomodations. I've been there.

Once was enough.

Staged, grainy, aerial photos like the one LOL used can easily make even the most spectacular resorts appear run-down. I travel all year long on a private dime and I would consider that Hotel excessive at public expense. Here's a more modest alternative:

Geez, it's great a hotel. It's nice, don't get me wrong, and it's just as nice as the Ritz. It's way above average for public monies. I've been there.

I'd love to return.

You think $119 in the middle of city excessive. Are you a truck driver? Sleep in your own cab and get shower at the truck stop?

When I travel to New City on business my room is $300-400 a night.

You think a waterfront resort for a public employess is not excessive. Are you a bus driver? Sleep at a YMCA and bathe in the nearby river??

Bub,when I travel to New City on business on my firm's Gulfstream, my room is $600-800 a night.

Our kids have to go to school in trailers every day, therefore these bums should stay in a trailer.

In fact, send Dale and the entire SB and lets them stay in the same trailer as those two cold hearted bitches.

Too bad these kids were not identified as threats by the nazi FCPS administrators. But the students in FC are certainly safe from little Billy and his Luden's Cough Drops: Littly Billy was suspended for narcotics. So now that you are here, tell us who the next Pablo Escobar to be suspended will be....
