That part of Virginia outside of Charlottesville is so desolate and so hidden the searchers can search everyday for the next 10 years and not find anything.

Of course the police have enough to arrest him. The found evidence in his car that justified a search warrant of his home; i.e. evidence that Hannah had been in his car. That's probable cause right there. The reason he has not been arrested yet is because LE is waiting to see what his next move will be - will he call someone? lead them to Hannah? He is under 24 hour surveillance. The big questions are 1. where is she? and 2. whether he acted alone.

You need to watch the local coverage on Fox 5. They have footage other than college students waiting to be dispatched. Nobody is going to be carrying a rifle. CCW holders may be armed but I doubt anyone will OC.

The press conferences now are to see if anyone will turn in anyone else or spill the beans on where she is - it's doubtful Matthews acted entirely alone. If he raped and then killed her, someone else knows about it. It's not easy to dispose of a body and he lives with other people. Somebody knows something.
