American chip manufacturer Intel has announced that it intends to create a “leading-edge semiconductor fab mega-site in Germany”

According to Intel, the manufacturing hub in Germany — which it has referred to as the “Silicon Junction” of Europe — will create 7,000 construction jobs during the building of the site and will result in 3,000 permanent high-tech jobs in the factory.

THIS IS THE SECOND HUGE NEWS RELEASE FOR INTEL IN A SINGLE MONTH. ffu recently noted the ground breaking of a factory in Ohio.

Intel has many factories abroad. One result as been "enhanced efficiency" from Israel (nahalem if I must make a guess) and Malaysian intel chips with low number of errors and good speed.

It's unknown if some future conflict could "cause a breach of trust so big that it would become a competing ARM factory".

you can say "oh what? Intel would own it that would never happen"

but ...

we've seen uk would betray it's people outsource it's jobs of tomorrow for a little bribe for a few families today

it's not impossible Germany would suddenly declare "WE HATE INTEL, the factory will make .DE chips which is an ARM subsidiary"

one bad weather indicator is FACEBOOK IN GERMANY

FACEBOOK was first sued by germany to insist on hiring germans to monitor and control speech of germans - to delete german opinions not co-ordinate with the parliament's

FACEBOOK was then SUED by germany for the same - "for general lack of privacy" - which was of course caused by superfunding government control of the internet which they sued facebook for

MEANWHILE - ALL OF THAT - might have been arranged to let certain CEOs get in on a cash advance on stock they couldn't quickly easily get out of

(^^ while i don't explain this i will say this is why airlines close and assume each others assets: it's to allow CEO to cash in personal shares and it's not quite legal but become almost tradition in today's world)

now, Intel is responding to two pressures:

"lower mfg cost" (access to other-talent also, per say)

"pressure from people who don't want to be controlled by USA under USA's thumb, ie linux replacing Solaris, ARM replacing Motorola"

(we've had domestic wars of Microsoft terrorists hacking linux and etc to attack all other OS including Iris Solaris AIX - which CHINA is actually the King of Wars in - mutating hardware is why)

But there is also a foreign war to make Technology controlled by UK (already failed now CHINA controlls ARM, who didn't know that). Or "anyone but USA controlling it" (the CRT factor). And CHINA controlling it (we know what that means and that it's a real threat).

This can become ARM replacing Intel quite quickly also, in a WWIII scenario where the world is at war. A country like Germany might just be like "ok everyone in NATO agrees these Intel factories will be making ARM chips and anyone who disagrees will not be a member of NATO"

Intel has to betray it's own country and LOOSE A VALUABLE EXPORT

You can argue Intel couldn't win that way it must betray Made in USA

But I can argue: REALLY? WHY HASN'T CHINA HAD THAT PROBLEM? IS THAT TRUE?

if they don't they have to face up to the fact that winning support by building abroad (thus fostering local support and local movement to keep jobs and accept Intel), is ALSO VERY RISKY

there are other "perilous factors", such as past agreements Intel would not enter the cell phone market "because Intel had too much power"

But CHINA stole Irix's OpenGL/GL (nVidia chip tech) and motorola and intel and AMD plans and is making ARM, which had been "a small cell phone chipa" a direct competitor to Intel. China is NEVER GOING TO STICK TO PAST AGREEMENTS, the whole agreement was only to let them gather weapons to attack. One can now prove that.

as to UK's sale of a chip factory outsource to British Hong Kong ...
