Defeat Emissions Testing with Rapidpass trick

When I lived in Virginia, an old timer mechanic taught me how to defeat emissions testing in areas that had it.
You go to https://rapidpassvirginia.com/VaPublic/Locations and find where the nearest Rapidpass place is. Dive to that location and build up speed, and then cut the ignition and engine off just before coasting past Rapidpass camera sensors. Do this 3 or 4 times. Since you cut the ignition off and are coasting past the sensors, you will have zero tailpipe emissions when coasting by the imaging equipment. Then you wait a few days and go back to the website to get the Emissions paperwork.

If the sensor detects zero emissions, it's an invalid reading.

Like OP said, the sensor must receive an exhaust emission to process. If not received, it’s dead in the water and you won’t see “a pass” on the website.

One thing you could do is plumb a cylinder of CO2 into your exhaust pipe, then turn it on as you pass the emissions test. That might be enough to get it to pass (if you can get enough flow)...
...but if you're gonna go through all that work and expense, why not just spend the time and money to fix whatever problem's causing your shitbox to fail?
