Find memories of Fairfax in the 1960s

I am old and retired, but lived in Fairfax (near Lincolnia) in the 1960s - 1980s. I guess there aren’t many old neighbors around anymore, but the wife and I would like to travel back and see the area.

I googled Fairfax and found this website, and wanted to share a funny experience from April 1978 at Bailey’s Crossroads - the original ‘mixing bowl’!

I was on my way home from work on Columbia Pike when my stomach started to rumble a bit. I thought it might be from hunger, but the sweats that started immediately after told me different. I didn’t even have time to pull over as wave after wave of putrid diarrhea dumped out of me into my suit pants and car. My clothes were ruined and the car never smelled the same again.

If there’s anyone around from the old neighborhood I’d love to say hello!

Thank you, young man. I don’t remember you specifically, and I think I would due to your extremely ethnic name.

I wasn't here yet. I mean on Earth, not in Fairfax.

I remember you and was friendly with your wife. Our dog used to swipe your jockey shorts from the garbage and use them as chew toy for the afternoon. Had to feed that mutt a box of Milk Bones to get rid of his shit breath. Those were good times.

Virginia didn’t allow open gay behavior in the 60’s. The only bathhouses were in D.C.
