Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Noisy quadcopter has been flying around my neighborhood this afternoon. At first I thought that it was a string trimmer, but realized that it was a drone by the sound. Seems to be hovering over my cul-de-sac and then moving from street to street.
The operator must be nearby and I would like him/her to stop since it is distracting when I am trying to work in my home office. It sounds like 1000s of mosquitos.

Silly gun owners. First it's illegal to discharge a firearm in Fairfax county; that's two days in jail. Second that bullet has to come down some place and it might kill somebody.
1) Buy your own drone and crash into it. There are no rules about drone to drone crashes.
2) Get the same drone controller on the same frequency and "shoot it down" by crossing the signals\frequencies.

For 6 months I have had some lowlife debt collector calling my daughter's cell demanding that she go deliver a message to a neighbor. People need to learn to respect the privacy of others.
If the debt collector's message is so important, he can go deliver it himself. That's what I told him one evening when I called him at home. Boy was he pissed.
As far as the drones, fly them over your own house. Don't fly it over mine without asking me.
Using a controller to kill drones is an interesting idea, but a slingshot and marbles is much cheaper. 99% drones have died from the first shot.

I don't live in Fairfax so, go fuck yourself. If it did happen in Fairfax and missed and killed someone, it would most likely hit some mexican. No loss.

Yeah you're just salty that you don't have a creepy dystopian spy device like me, so what if I'm flying it in a residential neighborhood filled with families, I should be able to creepily observe you from a tiny plastic plane with no consequences.
And no, I don't need to justify why I'm flying around your neighborhood, maybe I just like the trees ;)

Chances are, you'll still be raped in the ass in court.

There are websites FULL of the personal details of bill collectors. I believe this happened.

Not sure what that has to do with the subject, but...
I can fix the problem your daughter is having, but she'll have to thank me herself. Does she do anal? Send a pic of her and we'll discuss it.
I do fly it over my own house. And yours as well. The range is remarkable as is the picture quality. Your bedroom walls really do need repainted though and that bedspread is quite stained.
You'd be lucky to hit a drone with a slingshot. Damn near impossible. And like the bullets, those marbles will land somewhere and may hurt someone.

I have a Phantom 3 Pro showing up soon. The 2 Vision+ is nice. The 3 has better handling and a higher res camera.
I have the Parrot Behop. It fucking rocks. I got for family events. The best video shots ever! Took a lot shots a birthday BBQ last weekend. Way fucking cool video. Everybody has been sharing the video.
Pesky quadcopters are why I invented the laser pointer. It's common courtesy to shine it in the pilot's eye to let them know they're not wanted in your neighborhood.

Sigh...the perils of being an early adopter. The 2 Vision is fine, but I will probably wait another 12-18 months before buying another one.
Have you run into any issues with the geofencing around parts of DC? I know not to try this in downtown DC, but with so many non-descript semi-secret facilities around here you never know when you will be in the wrong place.
I haven't and will not fly in DC. I hate the city and haven't been over that border (literally) in the past five years. There's nothing there that I need.
I think you can bring one of those down with a paint ball gun ... freeze the balls beforehand for real damage ..
but .. you might have to pay the owner for the damages .. not sure what the new laws are on those spying, flying machines.

The same as if you shot a car or other owned piece of property. Given that a decent drone costs in excess of $1,000, that could be a very expensive paintball you're shooting.
Hello everyone, I recently bought a multirotor from droneauthority. They only sell original items manufactured to high safety standards. The part was quickly delivered, which made me very happy.
