property boundaries in neighborhood marked / surveyed - why?

In Vienna many homes have the buried property boundary stakes marked with blue and pink ribbons. recently they have been putting in new telephone poles with power lines / etc, there were also some people from verizon recently

the town was no help, they referred me to miss utility but it isn't paint its ribbons marking property. anyone know why?

Miss utility puts ribbons, etc sometimes instead of paint. Call and ask them. When we had our property marked, they asked which we wanted.

Do a search by month and street name (You don't need to include "Rd" or "st" etc.). It will tell you who requested the markings.

Just FYI, sometimes you have to do the search twice if the first search doesn't pull up a record. Weird.
