So where do the heads who smoke that weed stand with buying a gun when they fill out the federal form 4473 and have to answer YES or NO to question 11E about their federally illegal weed use which will still be federally illegal but not prosecuted for small amounts.

Of course Democrats new mandatory background checks will make you buy that gun from a federal dealer or else as their now the law in Virginia and if Democrats get their way they will be nationwide so heads will be forced to choose LIE OR NOT when you want that gun and your weed too .

If you write NO and they find info in the NCIS you used weed or any other federally illegal narcotics your going to be busted for a federal felony for lying on that 4473 as the dealer will not sell the gun and will notify the BATFE of your attempted purchase with your govt issued photo ID's name address the works on the 4473 . If you say YES your off the federal hook as the dealer won't sell to you and that's it so you'll have to go up that sketchy gun free DC alley to buy in the black market at a much higher cost , just hope the piece is not stolen as you can't tell if it was to add time to your weedy buy after you were turned down

Decriminalization . So narcotic users now will be able to buy the guns Democrats want to ban from lawful non narcotics users ? Is that the way it works with Democrats for a vote or is it a pay back vote .

Mr Kennedy was convicted of lying on the 4473 and served time in federal prison as a result

In short the major reason question 11 E exists is because of drug crimes and gun deaths that are occurring in the United States today with combinations of illegal drugs and guns and have been a deadly combination for some time.

Yes the 11e question has come into play a few times. It is extremely rare. If you lie on 11e you have a 99.9998% chance of getting away with it. 11e is a non-issue.

11E is asked in the present tense. "Are You?", not "Were you ever?" or "Do you plan to?". Arguably does not even apply to yesterday. Certainly does not apply to tomorrow. And prior convictions are not relevant, unless for a felony, which is covered by 11C

11E is meaningless without the drug testing. Is that what the gun rights folks want?

What is your issue with 11 E? People who think pot should be legalized are people who don't think the government should be restricting people from exercising other rights just because they occasionally light up. You second amendment types like to quote "shall not be infringed". Where in the second amendment does it say except if they smoke pot?

My view is that as with consuming alcohol pot use should not be a bar from acquiring a firearm. Persons are currently under the influence of any drug including alcohol should not be permitted to possess a firearm outside the home. If you want to pound down a couple of beers or light up a joint at a friend's house then the guns stay home. If you have your gun on you then its just say no time.

Try it , they will just say no better yet, send a letter to the BATFE to get your answer in US official print and post it here

Dishonorable discharge ? YES you can check yes and still get that gun if you go before a US district court judge with your lawyers motion who can practice in the US court system (more $$$) and convince that US judge to let you buy it . The dealer will not sell it with yes on the 4473 or they are breaking the law .

That was discussed here already and you were told that if you have a recent conviction on the NCIS record for narcotics use the answer is no gun sale , you will have to take that to a US court to get any relief which is doubtful, write the BATFE for details , Im not posting the whole US code here , be sure to ID yourself as a narcotics user when you write and sign your name for clarity
