Teachers - Do the right thing!

I'm a nurse- teachers should do their jobs like I did!

This article captures exactly what many essentials feel from the bottom of their hearts. You were given ample time to get some sort of plan, time that no other essential worker got, and you *still* don't want to do your job. Just amazing and shameful.

Very noble of you. Teachers do not get to choose, they are mandated by gov’t and higher ranking officials. You can’t give a blanket statement like that, it’s not true.

My partner is a teacher. As a nurse we have access to training and PPE. Teachers don’t have any of that. Also the hospital has regulated visitors and occupancy, a school doesn’t have the ability to do that. As a nurse I have a few patients I care for each shift, in the classroom they see 90 students a day and have thousands of students moving through the hallway during class changes. It’s best for schools to be virtual so the hospitals can care for the people who are sick rather than overloading the system with the potential massive spread of the virus through schools and homes.

This is the same mindless knee-jerk bloviating that caused the useless and asinine lockdowns. Get over your stupid fears and get that "partner" of yours into the classroom. You are killing an entire generation of children because of irrational fear.

Tell that bulldagger she needs to get to work. Teaching is a fucking joke. They don't pay anything because it's only a tad harder to get than a McJob.

Teachers, unlike other real essential workers. simply are unable to carry out their jobs. In healthcare, many quit, many were furloughed without pay, many were laid off --- and ALL were cut of any raise and retirement funding frozen for those on the front line who did show up for work, no matter how frightened.

Not sure why the public schools continue to pay those who refuse to try to go back into the classroom. I would wager those entitled, selfish teachers might find a way to work in the classroom if pay and fancy pension and benefits were ended...as they SHOULD be just like other essential workers.

Hey news headine - most nurses are much older with many chronic conditions - that stopped some of them who bowed out but most put their big girl/boy pants on and did (and continue ) their service.

I can only hope that this somehow backfires on you very special folks. You like to be called professionals...but apparently put your needs above those of the people who you serve. Shameful really.
