Police Lives Matter

Tearing down all of the monuments will not change history. Just because someone owned slaves in a time when slavery was legal does not mean that they did not have other value as well during that time. If you want to judge a population on the actions of people when slavery was legal, then be prepared to be judged on the actions within your own race. Do you want to be judged on a black guy who knocks over a liquor store? You are innocent correct? But the way you're acting makes it seem like you think every white person is guilty for the actions of other white people. To be honest, 99% of us don't give a shit and just want to live our lives and not have to worry about taking care of complete strangers who have never once thanked us for any of the money the government steals from us for social programs. And no, that is not a black thing. Yes, whites are on welfare more than blacks mainly because whites make up 70% of the United States. But an unfortunate fact is that black s over-represent their population on welfare.

Correct me if I am wrong Ex Cop, but I recall there has only been one incident in the history of the FCPD of a police officer being shot. That didn't come in a police-public interaction but was instead an ambush. All other FCPD officers who died on duty died in accidents. The chances that a police-public interaction will turn out badly for a member of the public is, as you say, low. The chances that a police-public interaction will turn out badly for the police officer are even lower.

We seem to have forgotten that in recent years. Cuts both ways.
