Eminent domain is a right given to interstate pipeline companies by federal statute through the Natural Gas Act, and that gives pipelines the right to take private land for FERC-authorized use.

That aint shit! My great grandfather had all his land taken away from him completely in 1933 or so for the creation of the Shenandoah national park. The federal government gave him some cash and a Sears house on a half acre lot in the valley. They took his 80 acres and burned his house and barns. They even burned the outhouse!
