It's time to put Failfax in the rearview mirror. I just need to sell before real estate collapses which it surely will. I'll take my significant tax dollars with me. I'll watch FAILfax sink into another Democratic shithole from afar. Lesson learned never ever vote for a democrat. AMF!

The definition of insanity is, doing the same thing over and expecting a different result. When are the Dematards going to admit they are insane!?

Fletch Daniels got it wrong...as usual. Fairfax County's descent into its current state did not start with a wave immigration in 2000-2004. It started when Republican party ideologues pushed out moderates in the name of conservative ideological purity. Fairfax County was NEVER a bastion of conservatism, or at least the Reagan/post-Reagan version of conservatism.

The brand of Republicans that Fairfax County residents had traditionally supported were Good Government Republicans. Men like John Warner, Frank Wolfe, Tom Davis and John Dalton. Fairfax County voters in national elections during the "Republican era" tended to be more libertarian on social issues and more pro-government than the national Republican brand. Davis held his seat with strong majorities through 2006. Wolfe held his until he retired, and then passed it to a Republican successor.

Fairfax residents also were far more likely to "split the ticket", voting for Republicans in the national elections and Democrats in local elections. Democrats have held the Chair of the Board of Supervisors since Hanley won a special election to replace Davis in 1995. Republican control of the Board of Supervisors also ended with the 1995 general election.

The death knell for Republicans in Fairfax wasn't the 2004 election. It was the aftermath of the 2010 election. After a conservative Republican candidate failed for the second time to win the 11th District against Connolly, the Republicans decided to give up on the 11th in the redistricting. Better to maintain ideological purity than to admit that they needed to alter their brand in order to win in Fairfax. With the Republicans essentially throwing in the towel the real election became the Democratic nomination.

That is one way to spin it but the simple fact is no one with an R was or is going to win shit in NOVA. Alter their brand... get real... the Dems are trending to radical leftism. Any Dem that isn't an Antifa-supporting social justice warrior will left in the dust bin of history in the next 5 years. If moderate Dems are on the way out what would make you think a moderate R would win anything?

Democrats can talk all they want but simple economics will keep most of the bottom feeding immigrants out. Democrats have put up a velvet rope around the whole region while also championing “affordability” for minorities. Our area isn’t destined to become the next Detroit or San Francisco simply due to these factors. You can climb away from the ledge of you can jump to your demise for no good reason. Up to you.

Fairfax county is getting better all the time as more and more cowardly conservatives move away and die off.

I can only laugh at the type of world you and your kind will be living in when democrats are in charge of your life.

One day the only ones left in Failfax will be low IQ broke ass minorities and illegal leeches all with their hands out for more free stuff. The liberal coward beta cucks will be hiding in their safe places hoping that they don't get robbed and beaten since crime will go through the roof and they haven't the will or the means to defend themselves or their families. They actually will get what they deserve. The lesson here is to never, ever vote Democrat since they hate real Americans.

Spoken like an ideologue. John Cook was able to win twice in a district that leaned very heavily Democratic. The indications were strong that if he had chosen to run again in 2019, he would have been re-elected. In Providence a number of us were very excited about Bolon's candidacy in a district that the Republicans had not bothered to even run someone in 2015.

The Democratic party in Fairfax is experiencing something that has affected Republicans for some time. The energy is now coming from more extreme factions within the party. That doesn't mean that moderate Democrats aren't there, or that our numbers are smaller. It means that WE don't have the same amount of influence in who our party ends up nominating.

The reason I KNOW that a moderate candidate could win is from looking at the numbers and talking with voters. Huge numbers of voters, close to 60%, couldn't even be bothered to vote in the 2019 election. The number 1 reason is that in an election of whack jobs and nonentities there wasn't a candidate or message which motivated them. When this happens it comes down to whichever side's base is stronger, and in Fairfax that would be the Democrats.

Now with Chairman McKay in office, it will swing even more left. Pushing the "farce" climate change agenda, etc. One Fairfax, being all about "Equity" or I mean, stomping out the "supposed" white privilege in Fairfax county will kick the county a few notches lower. The county is toast. Loudoun will thrive a bit more, until the Liberal control overtakes that county too.
