RICHMOND, Va. -- A Virginia lawmaker is proposing a change to Lee-Jackson Day, a holiday that most state workers get off, which is Friday. Lee-Jackson Day is the Virginia holiday to remember two of the Civil War's Confederate leaders, Robert E Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson.

Virginia Senator Donald McEachin (D-Black) says the commonwealth would be better served by recognizing the two Virginians in January, but moving the actual holiday to Election Day in November.

"This not just something ah gotta do," said McEachin. "Lots of white politicians, mostly Democrats, need the black vote to get elected and will be supporting this to pander to potential supporters."

Last year on this bogus holiday I tried to go to the dmv to get my license reinstated but they were fucking closed for lee jackson bullshit day. Pissed me off. Fuck anyone who likes this holiday.

Fact:
The Confederates lost. Badly. For a stupid cause. Just like Germany/Nazi's and Japan in the past. I'll guess you wouldn't be 'threatened' by a Hitler Day. You would think it's stupid. He lost. Just like Lee and Jackson. There is no Sherman Day because it's not cool to rub burning the shit out of traitors cities (that one can argue still haven't fully recovered to this day).

There is a vocal minority in the south that want to rewrite history, but it's not gonna happen. Lee, Jackson, Davis were losers. If they were great minds/leaders they wouldn't have started something they couldn't finish. Instead, they got over million people (civilian and soldiers) killed and whole cities burned to the ground. The people they led got nothing from it but death, physical/mental injury, and destroyed cities. Union soldiers, widows, orphans at least got a pension. Lee got his home literally turned into a cemetary. The great "President" Jefferson Davis was reduced to fleeing Richmond trying to go to Cuba. He was caught in his wife's coat and shawl on a train.

Shit, Jefferson Davis had kid so stupid, he died falling off a railing at the 'Confederate White House'.

It's an undeniable, indisputable fact.

I used to manage a State office and sometimes nogs used to complain to me about Lee-Jackson Day. I always told them Spike Lee and Jesse Jackson were great men that deserved a State holiday!
