State of Virginia Looks At Changing "Fairfax County" to "City of Fairfax" for density rules
Posted by: More Skyscrapers ()

The state of Virginia is now looking at changing the status of Fairfax country to City of Fairfax for density reasons.

This allows the new entity of "City of Fairfax" to get different federal funding and restructures the government setup to a structure more like DC and Baltimore.

Positions and pay grades may be adjusted to fit the new structure of a city an not county.

Aka, some developers have most likely bribed some VA senators so they can go around the Fairfax county board and build more skyscrapers without county approval.

Mayors can hire and most importantly fire Bad Police chiefs that don't fire but protect bad cops

If Mayors don't ..The citizens then fire the Mayor on election day

Yes, going to the new structure will give the Mayor of the "New Fairfax City" more rights.

And that's not a joke , if you think anyone is in charge in Fairfax when the chair of the BOS has one vote on the board and that's it, you need to head to the new Merrifield center and wait for that state bed in a padded isolation cell

WTF is your problem anyway the Mayor and 90% of any city council will be DEMS

So your afraid the Dem Mayor will F up and be tossed in favor of A Republican HUH

Under the mayor-council system voters elect both a mayor and members of the city council. The city council performs legislative functions and the mayor the executive functions. Under this system, the mayor may be given a great deal of authority or only limited powers.[8] Under a strong mayor system, the mayor will be able to veto the actions of the council, appoint and fire the heads of city departments, and produce a budget. Under a weak mayor system, the mayor has little authority compared to the council and acts in a ceremonial capacity as a spokesperson for the city.[9]

In a council-manager system of government, either the members of the city council are elected by voters along with a mayor who presides over the council, or the voters elect members of the city council and the mayor is chosen from among them. In either case, the city council will then appoint a city manager to carry out the administrative functions of the municipal government. This frees the city council to address political functions such as setting policy and formulating the budget.[10
