Does uva admit men????

I saw a bumper sticker which read:

Women at VMI what’s next men at UVA?

I have lived in the commonwealth for a long time and I certainly know that at kne time VMI was all male, but this confused me. I though uva was coed. Is it not? Were uva and VMI sister schools?

And I know that uva even has a football and a basketball team. Is that just for show?

Old joke. I remember hearing that one back in the seventies when I was at UVA. Its ironic considering that UVA had except for certain select programs been a male only school until around 1970. When I graduated UVA was still a majority male college. Not sure if that is still true.

Except for select progs,. GTU didn't admit women until 1969. By 1976, it was almost 60% women.

They do admit “males” but they removed all urinals from bathrooms, so males that are fine with squatting when peeing only go there now.

UVA is the only university in the country that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are only 24 sites in the USA that are World Heritage Sites and only five that are modern man-made structures

Many of the older dorms were constructed before the school went coed. When women were enrolled they got the upper floors of some of those older dorms with urinal equipped bathrooms. Inevitably a few women would try to use them.
