Win10 - seemed stable at first - but i am now experiencing lock-ups ...

I used to get rare lockups using a couple main-stream steam games - rare or none.

I now have "Witcher" - it is locking up on average each time i play for an hour or two (sometimes twice, sometimes none), using Windows 10 and an nVidia game card. I also know that most of them are not due to "windows update" becuase i check if that was the cause of the lockup.

I had other problems: the "Real Media Player" (known to spread viruses back in 1995 and sell a product that was ALREADY FREE by intel - and not part of windows, is now part of Win10). It somehow breaks DirectX games. My speaker is excellent but old - scratchy when i change volume (excellent once set). When I change volume the "real player" code "detects" a media change and self decides to JACK UP VOLUME 100% blasting my ears. When I leave speakers off until game is loaded: never happens and i also don't hear any scratching - meaning maybe my speakers aren't damaged yet at all!!! There's a code overlap there somewhere (similar to a win95 problem of .wav files repeating over and over and "no way to stop it"). (meaning - real player is a virus telling me to replace old speakers with old capacitor noise simulated: but the speakers don't have a problem - the problem is completely fake and due to the "media kit" not the speakers)

Win10 (actually, Steam) burns bandwidth for no reason. Save games are huge and on the cloud: and every time there's a lockup - Steam and the game want to install updates (meaning: i can't play the game i have to watch it do updates instead - which is not what i paid for).

And while I love free updates: that doesn't mean I want a microsoft employee deciding to lock up my game by showing upgrade ULTIMATIMS (~ reboot now or your pc update will be damaged!) type ultimatims. I decide when and if i want an update: you be quite. that's what i'd expect. in other words: if the machine is likely to freeze by asking if i'm ready for an update why would they do it???

Is XBox also having lockup issues during game play ? I hear XBox has "updates". Do you have to wait for updates every time you play an XBox game?

I got the PC so i could run "windows only software" and figured I'd put in a mid-range game card and skip buying an (xbox)

I'm wondering now if my faith that Win10 is stable was not misplaced.

Like, if i'm a kid playing XBox do I get update ultimatims while i'm playing halo and have to call my friend "have to cancel the head to head, its' update time on my side"

gerrymanderer2 (OP) posts several lies on ffu daily - many\.10think he's a fx co gov worker who is getting paid to do it for false DNC democrat "advertising". he floods ffu with useless posts to bump down major news, posts fecal matter, mutilated bodies, child porn, foreign drug ads and sneaker ads, tells people to kill themselves and government should seize them and put them on psych pills in prison - decided by democrat gov of course, promotes kangaroo courthouse trials, gives anti-religious rants, gives satanic ritual rants, posts black males with large dicks on white young females, portends white low birth rate and fall of USA, food tampering/poisoning, and anything possible to DEMORALIZE white people on ffu. (perhaps a chinese prisoner or isis member - but definitely knowledgeable of fx co gov from the inside at times). the website operator has told him "not to post or return" which are still posted - not removed, by the sysop: not because of a political leaning but for continual illegal and gross spam along with messages that are only to demoralize if not kill others. he/she plays at financial terrorism as well: continuall reporting false financial data, and fake emergency please from (fake members of the community he makes up)

the above is clear that were i to re-install the OS and the game: i would still be experiencing "problems"

there are too many reports which report that "at first it works, now it doesn't, and work arounds did NOT work"

i could just admit i got fucked and NOT look at logs - logs from the people fucking you over - are only going to lie

"YOUR APPLICATION HAS CAUSED WINDOWS TO BECOME UNSTABLE" (WIN98)

WAS LATER REVEALED - WITH PROOF - that that message was shown millions of times to people when it was WINDOWS that cause the instability - which microsoft denied liability for. but - when source code was published it was PLAINLY CLEAR that that the code would blame a third party in every case

check your logs written by gamers or written by microsoft and find what? not the truth, i warrant that

anyway - if it were that simple - Witcher III is an old game, some gamer would have done that already and Steam would have an answer posted
