Wanted - Cristobal De Jesus Perez-Escobar for Felony Hit and Run

Police are searching for Cristobal De Jesus Perez-Escobar, 35, who is wanted on a felony hit and run charge.

On May 10 at 10:24 p.m., officers were called to U.S. 1 and Prince William Parkway to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The driver of one car reported that the other driver fled.
“An officer checking the area located an abandoned vehicle nearby which appeared to have been involved in a collision,” Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok said. “Witnesses reported that a man, woman and two children exited the vehicle and walked away on foot.”
Police soon found the women and children unharmed, but could not locate the man who was driving. They were, however, able to identify Perez-Escobar of Woodbridge as the suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700. Callers don’t have to give their names. Tips leading to arrest could earn a $1,000 cash reward.

Described as a Hispanic male, 5’6”, 160lbs with black hair and brown eyes
Last known address in the 1600 block of Maurice Dr in Woodbridge
Wanted for felony hit & run
Synopsis: On May 10th at 10:24PM, officers responded to the Prince William Pkwy and Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash. Officers arrived in the area and located one of the parties involved in the collision. The driver of that vehicle reported that the other part involved continued to drive the vehicle and fled the area. An officer checking the area located an abandoned vehicle nearby which appeared to have been involved in a collision. Witnesses reported that a man, woman, and two children exited the vehicle and walked away on foot. Officers located the woman and two children who were unharmed. Through the investigation, officers were able to identify the driver of the vehicle as being the accused. Warrants were subsequently obtained against the accused. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

Oh weird, they already have a mugshot for him. This is why I can't get involved in politics. You're automatically tied to good people like Cristobal, here. Good for him, leaving his family to deal with police while he's on the lamb.

Police like to intimidate witnesses into giving more information, often more information than they actually have. It's their MO.
If they don't like what they're hearing, or if they don't like your attitude, then the police have several options you need to consider:
- Claim the witness was in on the crime or guilty of some related crime
- Threaten to arrest and prosecute the witness
- Follow through with the threats and prosecute the witness (better for the cop than working the actual case and coming up empty-handed)
- Claim the witness made statements he/she didn't utter (cops don't have to record your interview, so you should)
- Claim the witness is lying (false statement to police carries up to a year in jail and the hearsay is DEFINITELY admissible in court)
These methods have been employed by local cops time and again and they never get in trouble for them. Who would prosecute/punish them?
