NRA, thoughts and prayers.....
Posted by: Colt 45 ()
Date: June 21, 2019 03:50PM

A piece scrolled across Lexus Nexis [nobody here saw it?]this morning saying Ackerman McQueen file a lawsuit against the NRA in Virginia court yesterday, alleging that they're owed $1.6 million from the NRA, and if the NRA doesn't "post the $3,000,000 letter of credit mandated by both parties' signed contract," then Ackerman McQueen is going to have to lay off half its employees, and pull the plug on NRATV. The filing had one jump-atcha quote, saying, "The alternative is that Ackerman -McQueen will be compelled to discontinue all services to the NRA and lose the employees who perform those services forever, incurring costs for severance the NRA is unlikely to pay without litigation."

Sound like AMc is preparing for a long dragged out fight to the bitter end, a death cage match with only one survivor, if you will.

Shutting down NRATV means our friend Dana Loesch will no longer get paid millions of dollars to make videos viewed by literal hundreds of people! No free coffee, no insurance, no Dana, no more American Rifleman magazine, Wayne’s day are numbered, and no Ollie. The NRA is dying a slow death by financial ruin. Thoughts and prayers for these poor, can’t pay their bills-poor, people.

$1.6 million is peanuts. 6.5 million members say you're full of shit.

My 40 bucks and 20 more donation x 5 million is not peanuts

The only problem is that there's still 10's of millions of gun owners that don't join the NRA and that's a shame as there the only major association that's protecting the 2nd.

If gun bans occur I don't want to hear shit from them , they voted for the Democrat by not supporting the NRA especially here in Va and many are Democrats

It gives me a feeling of what a SCAB is to a union UMWA coal miner

Yawn, just another Gerry “thoughts and prayers” shitpost. At least this time he isn’t celebrating the actual death of people who don’t share his political opinions like he does with floods and natural disasters. What a fucked up angry psychotic piece of shit Gerry/Ravi/Mark is. Karma is a hitch though and he will find it very soon.

The NRA will announce today NRA TV will cease all new production, and will shut down. Past programming will still be available on the internet, for a while.

Thoughts and prayers for those who lost their jobs.

The NRA's top lobbyist, Chris Cox, left the organization yesterday, and Ackerman McQueen told the Tulsa World that it's existence is in peril.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Chris, and all the fine folks at Ack Mcq.

So long as the money was flooding in from panicked gunhumpers and gun manufacturers during the Clinton and Obama years, the NRA executives' skimming and grifting was not really visible. Now that the flood of cash is down to the size of a baby's tinkle, we're seeing all the grabby hands that had been pilfering at the NRA for decades.

The NRA has been a RICO case in the making for decades...

It is 2019, the NRA needs to move with the times. Most US based industries have now gone global, and the NRA needs to follow their lead. I hear Russia is may be a friendly place for NRA expansion.

Wait a minute……

Chris needs to use his expertise to successfully lobby for other groups. Perhaps Manbla, jarts, Comcast, White supremacists, Westboro Baptist Church, or Infowars.

One of the gun group’s major benefactors said yestereday that he is preparing to lead an insurgency among wealthy contributors to oust Mr. Wayne LaPierre as chief executive of the NRA, along with his senior leadership team. Such a rebellion would represent a troublesome new threat to Mr. LaPierre, as his organization’s finances and vaunted political machine are being strained amid a host of legal battles, most notably the New York attorney general’s investigation into its tax-exempt status, and its toxicity among insurance carriers.

David Dell’Aquila, the restive donor, said the N.R.A.’s internal warfare “has become a daily soap opera and it’s decaying and destroying the N.R.A. from within, and it needs to stop.” He added, “Even if these allegations regarding Mr. LaPierre and his leadership are false, he has become radioactive and must step down.”

Unfortunately, for Mr LaPierre, if he is ousted, the board may have the opportunity to turn over privileged evidence to the courts involving LaPierre and illegal profit and influence. Sucks to be Wayne these days.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Wayne today.

Even if Wayne stays it may still be too late. The fall out between the NRA and Ackerman McQueen is resulting in a large amount of dirt coming out about how LaPierre was milking the NRA. Probably the only thing saving LaPiette from a criminal investigation is a friend in the White House. When Trump leaves it may be open season on Wayne.

The Constitution haters can run their mouths all they want but 6-1/2 million members will elect new leadership if necessary. It's unfortunate so many fail to
understand the very grass root nature of the organization so don't be watching for a for sale sign in front of the hq anytime soon.

As a former member of the NRA and still user of its gun range and reader of one of its magazines I am very aware of its nature of the organization and its membership. Today's NRA has gone the same way as today's ACLU. Both organizations started out holding reasonable positions based on the Constitution, but both organizations today have become beholden to extremist ideologues. Even if you don't buy this though the information coming out should make clear it is time for Wayne and his buddies to go. Surely you can find another group of committed ideologues to advance your cause, ones who will do so more honestly than the current NRA leadership.

^^^ Really? ROBERT REICH: 5 REASONS THE NRA IS WRONG

The next time you hear someone repeating pro-gun NRA propaganda, respond with these five points:

1. Gun laws save lives. Consider the federal assault weapons ban. After it became law in 1994, gun massacres—defined as instances of gun violence in which six or more people were shot and killed—fell by 37 percent. The number of people dying from mass shootings fell by 43 percent. But when Republicans in Congress let the ban lapse in 2004, gun massacres more than doubled.

2. The Second Amendment was never intended to permit mass slaughter. When the Constitution was written more than 200 years ago, the framers' goal was permit a "well-regulated militia," not to enable Americans to terrorize their communities.

3. More guns have not, and will not, make us safer. More than 30 studies show that guns are linked to an increased risk for violence and homicide. In 1996, Australia initiated a mandatory buyback program to reduce the number of guns in private ownership. Their firearm homicide rate fell 42 percent in the seven years that followed.

4. The vast majority of Americans want stronger gun safety laws. According to Gallup, 96 percent of Americans support universal background checks, 75 percent support a 30-day waiting period for all gun sales, and 70 percent favor requiring all privately owned guns to be registered with the police. Even the vast majority of gun owners are in favor of common-sense gun safety laws.

5. The National Rifle Association is a special interest group with a stranglehold on the Republican Party. In 2016, the group spent a record $55 million on elections. Their real goal is to protect a few big gun manufacturers who want to enlarge their profits.

I do not remember reading about the ACLU being infiltrated by Russian agents.

For the record, if we are doing comparisons, while NRA membership has plumeted in the last two years, the ACLU's paid membership has gone from 400,000 to 1.86 million over the same period.

The NRA doesn't release paid membership numbers, providing only "estimates."

Your business is NOT on other peoples property telling them how to live what to do.

Unless it comes over the fence - but not might come over the fence - unless it certainly will or has come over the fence.

PRIVATE PROPERTY - KEEP OUT

On Friday, DC Attorney General Karl Racine is requesting documents from both the NRA and its charitable foundation “as part of an investigation into whether these entities violated the District’s Nonprofit Act.” The D.C. attorney general is looking specifically at documents detailing “financial records, payments to vendors, and payments to officers and directors.” Racine is the second attorney general to issue subpoenas for financial records to the NRA this year -- New York Attorney General Letitia James opened an investigation into the NRA’s tax exempt status in April.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the NRA in this most tumultuous time.
