I don’t know how people live out there. Between earthquakes, wild fires, high costs of living, violent minorities and people shitting in the streets, how can anyone live there?

That's a pretty bad quake 6.9 ,its epicenter or main area here it happened is out in the California desert 150 miles from LA, that's where it was strongest
The quake we had here in Virginia in 2011 was a 5.9-6.0 . For every number higher on the Richter scale which measures the strength of Earthquakes a quake is 33 times worse as in 6 .0 to 7.0
They say the 1906 San Francisco quake was 7.7 to 7.9 and it devastated the city It hit a bit south on the San Andreas fault

It’s a big ass state, this earthquake wasn’t near those fires. It’s not like every natural disaster you hear of out there is happening in every CA resident’s backyard. People live there for the same reason people live in tornado-prone areas, events that seem more common and more destructive.
