Where are all new parks, athletic fields and roads?

Who the hell is running the planning commission and board of supervisors?

And then closed down others when developers wanted the land.

It's all about helping pump and dump new buildings for cash. The planning commission doesn't give a crap out the quality of life or new parks in Fairfax county.

I say fire them all!

The county schools have had 1 million square feet of classroom trailer space for 25 years now. Taxes go up, but things get worse.

The Board of Supervisors would rather spend 200k on defending illegal leeches from being deported then to spend your hard earned tax dollars on something citizens find important. Remember at election time and vote the dems out of office. Mostly the dems voted for the illegal leech fund.

Spending on defending illegal aliens from being deported has nothing to do with the number and state of our parks. Fairfax County long ago made two decisions regarding their parks. The first was that they would keep maintenance spending to an absolute minimum. The second was that improvements and new parks would be financed with bond revenues rather than from current revenues. This is not my assessment. This is what County officials told us when I was serving on one of their committees. The exception to these are parks that are able to come up with outside, non-County, funding.

If you want to get an idea of where new parks are going in the next few years, or want to know which parks are scheduled to be improved or significantly restored over the next four years, then look at the projects that were to be funded from the 2016 Parks and Rec Bond fund.

We solved this a few years ago when we elected the woman with a cock to the BOS. I don't understand why you people are complaining now. You were the very people that insisted that hiring a tranny would solve everything.

Bullshit. It has everything to do with it because it all starts with the money and wherever thier priorities are. It is 200k to the illegals leech now. Next it will be 400k and the BOS will cry for more and more revenue for items that the citizens want. The point is they are wasting are taxes on stuff nobody wants. In making Failfax a sanctuary for leeches it will just make it worse for the rest of us.

Yes Fairfax County is wasting money by spending $200,000 that is devoted solely to providing legal defense for illegal aliens in immigration matters. However that has nothing, I repeat nothing, to do with the state of our parks and rec centers.

I know for you everything wrong about Fairfax County comes back to illegals. However the County's attitude towards helping out those who are in this Country illegally isn't the cause of the problems in Fairfax County. It is simply a symptom of a much larger problem. There is little or no respect for taking care of the basic items that matter to most of Fairfax County residents. They instead want to devote resources to high profile items that they can brag about, but which often have little impact, or in some cases a negative impact, on the typical Fairfax County resident. Think the family that takes its entire transportation budget for the year and buys a high end BMW, giving no thought to how to pay for operating and maintaining it, or operating and maintaining the other vehicles the family uses.

Fairfax county only knows one thing; keep putting up huge building in some fantasy that the roads and lack of parks and schools will some how fix themselves.

And way more helping foreign national illegals instead of contributing some general fund cash to FCPA so rec center fees for residents will not be so high

10 dollars admission while you rip the taxpayers off with the illegal scam , go to hell

That's 50 dollars for a family of 3 kids to go to the indoor pool on a hot summer weekend

Go straight to hell for that Rip Off !

Illegals pay the same rates so don't throw your stinking race card down

OH. That's where you went wrong. Planning is for people who like to yak and attend meetings all day, not actually get anything done.

What planning? Seems to me the planning commission should really call it's self the developer encouragement commission.

There's no planning going on, it's give the highest bidder approvals to build.

Planning implies roads, schools, parks and public safety is taken to account with planning.

+1, Amen. Where's the parking and new roads?

Most of the county schools are overcrowded.
