If Trump hadn't generously offered up Air Force One, McCain's family would have been stuck with a huge transport bill, probably in the teens of thousands.
It was a nice thing to do, but apparently no good deed goes unpunished.
If McCain's family thought he hated Trump so much, maybe they should have declined the free plane flight then instead of being argumentative now.

McCain told the vietcong how to better shoot down our planes in order to receive better medical treatment. The number of US planes lost to the slants within 3 months after McCain was captured went up 60%. McCain told the dinks the ingress and egress routes of our bombers and the altitudes of these sorties. The US had to suspend the bombing campaigns of the slopes for another 4 months to reposition and configure new routes and tactics. There's a reason most of his naval records are sealed. The only thing that's been unsealed is his citations and the narratives around those.
