Welcome back, baseball

One of the happiest weekends of the year, as Spring Training baseball is back at last on the MLB Network. Four games yesterday, five games today, and six tomorrow. Kid-in-a-candy-shop time! We'll spend a week in West Palm Beach next month, but it's already just great to have baseball back.

West Pam Beach is a crime infested sewer - especially in the area around the former garbage dump where they built that stadium. There is NO ducking way that you are staying anywhere near there unless you are in a gated community. You'll be damned lucky to get out of there without being mugged and assraped.

Just glad he's gone. Philly won't win with him either. Hopefully the Nats get something decent in return.

What a loser! You make it sound like SEDC, which of course isn't actually anything like that either.

For the record, we stay up along PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens because that leaves us about 20 minutes from both the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches (Nats and Astros) and Roger Dean Stadium up in Jupiter (Cards and Marlins) so we can go to either one just as easily. The area is sort of like McLean, but with more sand and palm trees and more and better restaurants.

There's no actual reason even to try. All this nonsense about speeding up the game to attract younger fans is a complete load of manufactured crapola. Some fans may have a plane to catch and some may have to get up early for work the next day. Some for whatever odd reason may think that three hours is just too long to spend on a game. All these folks are free to leave whenever they like. But the rest of us enjoy both the game and simply being at the ballpark. We arrive early if we can and would be in no hurry to leave either if the Nats would keep the concessions open longer and pay to have a couple of Metro trains waiting to run after the game.

And the actual big slow-down of course is not mound visits or batters stepping out between pitches. Rather it's the amount of time officially devoted to money-raising commercials between innings. Used to take about 60 seconds for teams to change sides, but now it's two and a half minutes and play can't resume until that infernal clock has wound down to zero. All that was done by the Used Car Dealer and then Manfred the Magician. Couple of real clunkers there!

Yeah. Palm Beach Gardens is like McLean. ROTFLMFAO!!

Except, with a lot more crime. More theft. More murders. More illegals. More poor Negroes. Actually, a LOT more poor Negroes.

I'll give you this: it is marginally safer than the area around 45th and Military where they put that stadium . . . "The Palm Beaches" indeed! LMAO. Like all those morons talking about Hard Rock Stadium and South Beach, when South Beach is like 20 miles away and 20 levels of wealth above the POS area around that stadium.

So, do you stay at the Doubletree, or at the Embassy suites. Doesn't matter - I've stayed at both and they're both overpriced dumps (the Embassy Suites is slightly less dumpy). I've stayed at the Hilton and Marriott, too - but that was several years ago. I wouldn't be caught dead in any of their parking lots by myself late at night. Actually, if I was caught there, that is probably exactly what I would be: dead.

Yep, you stay there and visit the area around that stadium long enough, and you're going to get mugged and/or assraped. It's only a matter of time.

If you like food and nightlife, head down to Clematis for some good drinks and grub - and increase your odds another 50% of getting mugged and/or assraped.

Jupiter is quite a bit safer (although it's still SoFla, so how safe could it really be?). I'd spend more time there.

There was once a total jerk on here who tried to pass himself off as an expert on Viera by googling places (such as PGA Blvd) and then trying to write about it all as if he'd actually been there. You sound something like that guy. All hat, no cattle, and totally fucking useless.

Yeah. Right. I grew up in PBC, scumbag. I still have family and friends in Lake Worth, and more distant family in Riviera Beach (worst city in the USA - worse that East St. Louis and I have been there, too, and don't need Google for that either). Why the hell would i bother with Google - I can get on the phone and get a current first hand view. LOL. Actually, I would be more likely to need to Google McLean to find out shit I don't know about it than any place in PBC.

Yeah, I'm envious as all hell of going to 45th and Military. ROTFLMFAO! You CLEARLY have never been there. They have a gated community around there - west side of Military IIRC - and even with the gates and walls (walls - the horror!) Negro hooligans break in and steal shit from the white retirees on the regular.

Now go back to humping your mother - I haven't got time for her right now.

Omg beisbol is soooo boooorrring.

The players are dullsville and TV coverage has gotten really bad with the stupid elevated centerfield camera and the stupid box they place over home plate. Bitch I know if it's a strike or if it's a ball. I don't need your dumbass box.

I was a tremendous varsity baseball player in my HS years but I've grown disenchanted with the sport.

It's on the way to the ballpark, stranger. PGA Blvd then south on Military Trail to the right on 45th and then the left at Haverhill Road and a quick left again into the ballpark.

That's actually, a KwikStop on that corner, homeboy. No gates of any kind. Want to make a complete ass of yourself again?

What corner? I never mentioned any fucking corner, you abject fucking moron. Were you born this stupid, or have you been hit in the head by too many foul balls?

I said "around there." And you're even too fucking stupid to use Google Maps. Incredible.

Ask a friend to google woodbine for you. Idiot.

Woodbine apartments? A nondescript complex associated with a nondescript strip mall. And not exactly near 45th Street either. You have go north again on Military Trail past MLK and Blue Heron to get there. That's a good chunk of the way back to PGA Boulevard. I'm thinking I might actually know more about this area than you do, lifetimer.

Chess is a better game. Requires greater abilities, moves faster, generates greater excitement, and involves more action.

Do you open with a Frech defense or Queens gambit? Meh, no matter. Baseball is far better.

And yet you don't. Woodbine is a gated community of single family HOUSES. Not a strip mall. Not talking about apartments, Single family homes. Google has betrayed you again. LMAO. About a mile or so from your stadium and still in Negroville (which you think is McLean), just like your stadium. I could have mentioned the gated Indian Trace development which is even closer to the stadium and also unsafe. But I know Woodbine homeowners; don't personally know anyone in Indian Trace. Or the poor bastards at the church on Haverhill between Roebuck and 45th which has to have security patrol their parking lot during services to keep cars from being broken into. And that's during broad daylight! Such a safe area - just like McLean. LOL!

Enjoy the assrape! I have a feeling that kind of thing is right up your "alley."
