First time storm for me in Fairfax. When will we get the answer to our emails about school on Monday?

Since the schools are officially closed this weekend, I believe that means the sidewalks at the schools themselves will not be cleared until Monday morning. Expect at least a late opening, but I am banking on Monday being a day off for my kid.

Schools will be closed for at least three weeks so every inch of sidewalks can become completely dry.

Media reporting lawsuits over "un-shoveled sidewalks" began during Bill Clinton.

Republicans balked and said "if you can't walk stay home - you can see snow well before you step on it"

It began at the same time chinese snow shovels* began being sold in USA.



* the early chinese snow shovels were absolute worthless - they were bad plastic on a stick. most people didn't buy them and the ones that did didn't finish shoveling a single driveway before they broke

it is also when fairfax county gov began hiring illegal aliens to shovel FCPS schools*



* ie, 3 mexicans with expensive blowers when there was only dusting on the ground no accumulation and don't fucking tell me that's not what it was

They can't be closed for three weeks. They have to be officially open so they can close for MLK Day, otherwise it won't count. And that be racist.
