Pay raises coming up for top Trump officials

While hundreds of thousand of civil service workers have had their pay frozen and/or halted, Trumps cadres of crooked fat-cats will be treated rather differently during the shutdown.

Substantial (as in five-figure) pay raises for cabinet secretaries, deputy secretaries, top administrators and even do-nothing Vice President Pence will go into effect beginning Saturday (Jan 5) unless Congress acts to block them. The raises appear to be an intended consequence of the shutdown, as Republican lawmakers 'failed' to pass bills to halt them on Dec. 21.

Trump can't do that. Only congress can determine the pay bands of any government employee and appropriate funds accordingly. Sorry for you butthurt but your beef is with congress, not El Presidente.
