I feel the pain that my constituents are going through and I'm going to bring up this topic at the next board meeting
I will request funding for a study to determine what is the best solution for this chaotic mess that exists and affects the great people in Reston. Unfortunately, this years budget is very deep in the red, and we might be able to finance the study in the next fiscal year.
Typically, a study of this sort takes at least a year to do, then the BOS has a meeting in which a representative of VDOT attends and the public is invited and my colleagues pretend to pay attention to whatever the public says.
Then we dicker with the state and/or feds on how it will be funded. After the money is raised, we have to go through a year long bid process for the actual work. After my cousin wins the bid, he usually is ready to begin within 2 years of his submission of said bid.
I would say that the solution will be in place by October 2029.
