I-66 widening finally complete!

Thank GOD! There is still a bottleneck near the Prince William parkway but NOTHING like it was before!

No more sitting in traffic between 7100 and the Manassas exits for an hour every god damn day.

On a side note, 66 is also known as the "Curtis Memorial Parkway" ? Since when? (See Google Maps: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=22033&ie=UTF8&z=13&om=1)

Now to start work on widening the widened part of I-66.

I don't know where you guys live, but there are millions of ways NOT to take I-66. I refuse to sit in an hour's worth of traffic to go from 7100 to Manassas. Ever hear of Braddock Road? Lee Highway?

Part IV of the project is to hang whoever thought to put the Nissan pavillion out there. No mass transit and mud for a parking lot.

My Drive is always against traffic on 66, but going home the past 2 days, There does not seem to be any delay getting into Manassas now. Pretty much clear sailing from rt123 vienna to rt29 in gainsville. I love how the stoped about a mile short of the gainsville exit.. Why not just extended it all the way??

That would be "Custis" Memorial Parkway, named for the Custis Family who owned what is now Arlington National Cemetery. They were descendents of George Washington (through marriage - Martha's kids before george) and Robert E. Lee later married into the family. He and his wife Mary Custis Lee pretty much had their land stolen by the Federal Government during the Civil War - Feds told the wife of the commanding general of the enemy forces that she could only pay her taxes on the land "in person."

What the hell kind or retard decided to stop it before the exit. They have now jsut moved the bottleneck from Manasass to gaineville. It was probly the same person who decided to contract a company to do 1 years work in 3 years time.
