Undocumented immigrants in Va. can now qualify for in-state tuition

On Wednesday, Giancarla Rojas put down her deposit to transfer to George Mason University — something that she wasn’t sure would be possible two days before.
Rojas, who just finished her sophomore year at Northern Virginia Community College, is an undocumented immigrant. Despite living in Falls Church, Va. since she was 13 years old, Rojas has had to pay out-of-state tuition for the past two years.
Out-of-state tuition at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) costs almost $9,000 per year, almost as much as in-state tuition at George Mason, which is $9,908.
On Tuesday, Mark R. Herring, attorney general of Virginia, announced that Virginia students who have been approved for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program now qualify for in-state tuition.

$9,000/year for NOVA. Wow. She should get free tuition to George Mason.
