BOYCE, Va. (WUSA9) -- One person was airlifted to the hospital and two others were treated for injuries after an accident on Route 7 in Virginia.
It happened at the Route 7/Belmont Ridge Road traffic signal when a 22-year-old Virginia man was operating his 2005 Toyota 4runner westbound on Route 7 when it struck a stopped 2004 Lincoln Town Car. That car then pushed into a 2008 Honda Accord driven by a 47-year-old Leesburg man, officials said.
Both of the drivers had stopped for traffic.
After the initial impact, the 4runner overturned onto the driver's side, police said.
The driver of the Lincoln was airlifted to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. The driver of the Honda was taken to the Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 4runner was treated at the scene, police said.
An active fuel leak caused several of the lanes to remain closed.
