WMAL Radio Signal Scratchy

The WMAL-FM radio signal has been very scratchy lately. Has anyone heard of a transmitter change or switch to backup?

This is on several radios, even in the Merrifield area, where the WMAL-FM transmitter is located at I-495 and US 29.

Good. Maybe Maria Leaf's voice will not be so obnoxious if the signal is scratchy! God she is annoying. She sounds like she is speaking from the toilet while constipated.

Washingtonian: holy crap with that fence in the way i'll have to walk all the way around. why the hell did they replace the "keep off grass" signs with that plastic crap?

Yes, the signal is scratchy and the Stereo Multiplexed signal is very intermittent. I heard they had problems paying their utility bill.
