Can the Nats PLEASE get a slugger that is not so self absorbed and more of a team player?
I am so tired of the temper tantrums, the bat throwing, the poor base running and the hair flips!
Opposing teams either know how to pitch to him or pitch around him.
Seems like he wants a lot of money for the occasional home runs he hits. I say he's not worth it, his slugging ability has not gotten us any closer to a World Series.
Players on teams that go deep into the playoffs have chemistry playing together, they LIKE each other. Harper is too self centered and conceited to be well liked and admired by other team members, negatively effecting the important team chemistry.
Send him packing, we need more team players like Trae Turner, Michael Taylor, Anthony Rendon and Daniel Murphy.

Definitely trade this selfish piece of shit choke artist. Never played good in the playoffs when it counts. Got his ass kicked by Jonathan Papalbon and deserved it.

LOL. You know nothing about Harper or how the club feels about him. You also neglected to mention his above-average range in the field and a gun for an arm. He can throw it to home plate from RF to hold runners at 3rd that 90% of right fielders wouldn't even try and throw.
I have enjoyed having Harper here and he's a fan favorite. That said he's not a magic component of a team that advances in October, as we have seen. He's Cousins-like, a guy with so much promise but for whatever reason not the championship answer.
Rather than bet the franchise on him, let some other club pay for his frequent injuries and try to find someone else, the next 19-year-old prodigy or something.
Werth, another fan favorite, will go on to tend his 500 acre farm in Illinois.
What? Above average range? He's let more balls drop in front of him then any other right fielder I know. If he's so fast, why not put him in center?
He lets Taylor get more balls that should be his.
I will grant you, he has an arm, but not one that is worth what he will be asking for.
The "team" likes him because he sells shirts at the stadium gift shop. The team has to promote the bum, they have too much money invested in the fall FALL guy.
Celebrity does not win games, no matter how cute you think his hair flip is...
Just more asshole-babble in this thread. Not a shred of actual baseball knowledge to be found anywhere above.
Harper -- a perennial MVP-caliber player -- is under contract here through the 2018 season. If as expected, mid-season arrives with the Nats on track to win the division yet again, a healthy Harper will be a key part of the stretch and post-season runs. If extreme weirdness somehow sets in and we are not looking like we will secure a playoff spot by late July, Harper can then be traded to a contender for a very handsome return. Resigning him is always possible, but under the watchful eye of Scott Boras, Harper will all but certainly want to see what the market for him is before deciding to sign anywhere. More than just money tends to drive these decisions though, particularly when top-tier players are involved. The situation will play out in one way or another over the next six months or so. Stay tuned, and stop being so totally stupid.

I am now feeling stress free. Thank you "Mr. Mature Adult" for setting us all straight, and putting us in our place.
His opinion of Mr. Harper is of course the correct opinion, all the rest of us are just lowly baseball fans that know nothing, even though our eyes don't deceive us when we see Harper round second base even though the ball was caught by the center fielder.
Or perhaps it was when he cracked a gash in his head by swinging a bat in the tunnel after striking out, you remember, he got so pissed he swung the bat against a cement wall and the bat swung back and hit his over rated melon causing a flow of blood when he re-took the field.
Or even during those times when he half heartedly jogs to first because he became annoyed at grounding out.
Perhaps Papelbon was right and knew what his teammates thought of Harper which just may be in opposition of the beliefs of "What a surprise!"
But we peons must not formulate an opinion of Harper for the numerous things we've seen with our own eyes, after all he is still very young don't you know...and we should bow to the intelligence and vaulted opinions of our BETTERS!
