Lasership Delivery in the DMV, Your Hoiday Gifts

Lasership, an East Coast delivery company headquartered in Vienna just outside of Tysons Corner, with an F rating with the Better Business Bureau and thousands of complaints online such as at Yelp and others. A number of larger companies use Lasership for shipping to homes when USPS, UPS, and Fedex are overwhelmed. Unlike the bigger delivery companies who normally pay their employees an hourly wage with their own fleet of delivery trucks, Lasership employees are paid per delivery typically around $1 to $2 each and responsible for their own car expenses while doing deliveries. You may be fortunate to have a caring Lasership delivery person for your neighborhood, others are not so much so and sometimes GPS challenged and end up making delivery mistakes. Since Lasership often does not have access to secure buildings like the larger delivery companies, they may end up leaving the package in a less secure location. With Amazon for example, consumer Lasership complaints of inaccurate tracking with the packages showing up days later or not at all.

When ordering those Christmas or holiday gifts online, save yourself possible frustration and find out who the e-merchants delivery companies are, some who provide this information on their website. With Amazon, I have gone with the smaller 3rd party sellers who almost always uses USPS, UPS, or Fedex, rather than have the order fulfilled by Amazon especially with express shipping. Other companies have found that uses Lasership at least some of the time include Walmart (though more often uses Fedex), jet.com, Google Express, and drugstore.com, and eBay as of late can be mixed bag including use of Amazon couriers which you cannot track there. This all said, no delivery company is perfect including the biggest ones.

Fuck that.

Whatever it takes to ship cheap, China-made toys to my house for my kid for xmas so I don't have to set foot in a store.

Do you think anyone cares if these drivers are treated like shit? Don't drive if you don't like it. It's a free market economy, retards. If some dipfuck out there is willing to do a job cheap and I benefit (and in some cases make money), then fuck you.

Merry Christmas.

#1 ffu is not your personal ad space, fuck off

#2 don't use unknown shipping companies. it's probably niggas and if some of your packages "turn up missing", guess what, it will be impossible to get them to admit fault

that's $2 extra on top of FED EX charges no doubt

infact it's probably UPS employees who are already paid to use their own vehicle to deliver the very same packages

these fucking foreigners are just trying to rip you off getting you to pay extra shipping for shipping that would be done anyway

---------------------

no one delivers packages for $1 or $2, that wouldn't even cover gas these days

the Police should probably be watching these jokers

I'm confused, you have things delivered to you inside a branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles? How does that work? Does the delivery person come inside and shout out your name? If your package never arrives, I would check around at other branches, maybe it was delivered to a different branch.

I would only care if I were ordering something unique, that could not be replaced. Until I lay hands on the item, I have not received it, so it's not my problem.

AMZN shipping is pretty shitty too, though it's no biggie as amazon support is great and will just send you out a replacement STAT

DMV DC, Maryland, Virginia for any who need clarification here.

I believe the original poster just trying to be helpful, not advertising. Of course, some here rather receive the holiday curse from having some of their packages delivered late or not at all.

They're all kinda shitty at times, especially during the holidays when they're slammed and staffed up with temps. Case in point: our regular UPS guy is a nice, pleasant dude, who will ring the doorbell and wait a moment to see if you're there, and then have a quick conversation if you have something to say.

The last couple of weeks, we've had a temp, who leaves the boxes in the driveway and runs. I managed to catch him the other day and pointed out that the normal way to deliver something is to the house, not the driveway; he was pissy about it (I was stern, but not pissy). So now he'll get a complaint lodged, not that it will necessarily make any difference. UPS's official position is that they're only required to get the package to the property.

I don't have a hate-on for UPS; they have a big problem: they can't afford to keep enough trained staffers to handle the holiday rush. So we get to deal with this crap for a couple of months each year.

For the record, Amazon doesn't "have shipping". They use UPS, USPS, and LaserShip, among others. Those carriers are the ones you're pissed at.

Just to clarify, only major-league douchebags refer to DC, Maryland, and Virginia as 'the DMV.'

Get used to living in a Metro area with acronyms. The federal government is notorious for doing so.

Living just a few miles from the Chantilly UPS distribution center, I ordered an item on Amazon on Black Friday a few years ago with 'two-day' shipping. The package made it to the UPS hub over that weekend. With UPS overwhelmed with so many deliveries then, I tracked that the package was on the delivery truck locally the next three days and finally delivered on Thursday. At least Amazon was good with fully refunding my shipping charges.

Here's the thing - that one was already taken. By the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Tell that also to the news media. Good luck!
