Fairfax County General :
Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
So i was driving down Rt 29 this morning towards Fairfax and i saw an odd thing: A motorclyclist actually signaled before changing lanes, and he did it several times. He also passed several people. Someone disliked this and sped up to pass him, and they were promptly pulled over.
The way you can tell it is an undercover cop:
Yellow reflective jacket, black pants with yellow reflective stripe on leg.
Radio antennas on back (tho i guess most bikes have these)
Follows traffic laws
I cant remember where the flashy lights were but there were 2 on the back and 2 on front.
What kind of motorcycle? Cruiser or sportbike? That would help alot....

I saw 2 bike cops in Falls Church at the intersection of Rt.7 and Patrick Henry Dr. They were on hybrid BMW 'like' touring bikes. Not sure they were BMW's. Heard other reports of cops on these bikes as well. No lights, I think just a small Fairfax Co. sticker on it. They were in cop uniforms and the bikes were blue and white.
NV Highway patrol went to BMW's yrs ago, faster, reliable, and more comfortable and they'll last longer than a HD.
Besides the initial cost is less and BMW's require less maintance.
It amazes me still that people don't know the vast difference between "undercover" and "unmarked". I thought this was an issue of children not knowing the difference when I was younger, but I guess stupidity doesn't pass with age.
When I commute to Beltsville for my work, Ive seen them near the Walmart on 29/near Lowes. This is approx 710am. Most of the motorcycles are dirt bike type with mirrors. I took a pic and my flash went off and I wuz scared they would ticket me for something. My tail light bulb will be purchased today. I will post the pic today at work.
